Help! My port has moved 6 inches, and I'm scared

I know women can get pregnant with a band. The doc asks you wait 12-18months post-op. I had a port that flipped, here recently.... and it cause A LOT of pain for a couple of days. That could have happened. I feel it move around some, esp when I run my hand over it, or excerise. I go in next week to have it fixed.. You might want to call ur surgeon tho. Your port is stitched to your abdominal wall... and with your belly about to start stretching out, idk.... Oh, and they may want to take fluid out of your band a little ways into your pregnancy. Husband is stationed at Hungter Army Airfield, but we just moved back home, since he is not planning on re-enlisting in July. So, back in Bama now! I love it!! We've been so far from family for so long!

I'm TriCare too.... I was banded 11/22/2010, but my port has flipped and I only have about 1cc in my band, so weight loss is very slow for me! Just thought we might have some common issues being military!!

I was banded 11/18/2010. My first fill, due to the holidays was 12/30/10. And I can't really tell any difference. I'm hungry most of the day. I eat but don't really get full.. I just stop when I think I've eaten enough. And (due to all the holiday goodies) I find myself nibbling on candy and chocolate throughout the day. I feel like I am self-sabatogaing myself, and wondering if I will ever feel full like I did right after surgery. My band was empty after surgery and I think they only put .5cc in for my first fill. Should I contact my bariatric team or is this normal for the first fill?

Sorry it's taken a while to get back to everyone. I can still eat a good bit (my Doc put 1.8cc in my band on the 1st fill. My band was left empty after my surgery) For 24 hours after a fill you have to do liquids, after that you can eat... that's what my doc office makes us do. I only had to be on a liquid diet for 10 days after surgery. It wasn't too bad. I just had my "possible" second fill Wednesday and I still feel no restriction (was suppose to be another 1.8cc). He had trouble accessing my port, they think it's flipped (had an x-ray to confirm but haven't heard back from my doc yet) he put the saline in but he's not sure it went into my port or not. I don't think it did, I feel no difference. And I'm upset because I might have to have another surgery to fix my port....

Thank you. I went for a fill today, and they think my port has flipped. Should know for sure tomorrow. I'm praying that the doc was just off and it's fine.

ugh... for some reason it cut off the last part of my post.... Has anyone else had a flipped port??

<FONT color=#000080 size=4 face=Georgia>Sooo... I went in today for my second fill and my Dr. couldn't get anything in. He kept aspirating bloody liquid back, and hitting something hard. It hurt really bad when he missed, and sounded like metal scrapping hard plastic when he'd hit it. I told him that a couple of weeks ago I stood up and got really bad pains. I thought it was just some serious gas pains, but when I rubbed my hand over the port site (b/c that's where it hurt) I could feel something move. He sent me down to get an x-ray, and I should hear back from him tomorrow. I have 3 small kids, I really don't have time to deal with another surgery. Ugh... I know I need to have it done so I can get fills... but it's just so aggravating

went to get my second fill today and found out my port my be flipped... had x-rays done and should know something tomorrow :/

I was just banded at the end of November.... just wondering what you eat for dinner. Or recipes for cooking healthy for a family....

YUM! We were banded about the same time. I've only had one fill and I can still eat a pretty good amount, and some things that I'm sure I won't be able to eat after I get to my "sweet spot" or "green zone". I went to a Zumba class tonight and I'm usually not hungry after I work out. I have a baked chicken breast left over for lunch (with basil and half a can of tomatoes)... so I can always munch on that.

I was also banded 11/22. My diet afterwards was so different than everyone else's I read. I was liquids for the the first 7 days. Mushy on the 8th and 9th day and straight to chunky on the 10th day. I've been doing ok. Got my first fill 12/30 and my second is scheduled for 1/26.... I'm thinking about calling Monday and see if I can go in next week because I'm starting to gain back some of what I lost after my first fill. A little discouraging. I'm soooo scared I'm going to stretch out my pouch .... I hope I'm not!!
