Sandy, I am 2.5 weeks out and right now I'm still challenged in terms of navigating what the new meaning of full is now and trying wrap my head around the tiniest portions of food actually being enough, and not being able to eat when my warped brain says things look delicious, and trying to get enough protein and water, and going from diarrhea to constipation, and going from loosing 10 lbs a week to 0....I'd say that I would agree with Kris, the 1st month does suck. However, the issues you are having now will pass! Those are things that I am now over and I too momentarily wondered what the hell I did to myself. And while I'm not going to lie and say things are all roses now, I will say that I am simply in an adjustment phase and I know this will get better as well. Hang in there because in the end it will be worth it

I am only 2 weeks out and as my head hunger rages on I do genuinely already miss food as I remember it, though the consequences of that type of food I do not miss. I was very upset a few days ago as I couldn't even drink normally and I was frightened that I made a mistake, but that has drastically changed over the past few days and I am able to drink normally again. I have faith that I will be able to eat at a new normal again as well. It just might take time. Hang in there!

I am required to do a 3 day clear liquid diet and nothing after midnight before surgery. It has been a rough couple of days, but I am happy to report that today is my last day of liquids! I go in for surgery tomorrow at 8am! Good luck to you. This is a crazy journey and I'm so glad to finally be here. You will be soon too!

Hello Fellow Sleevers! My date is March 10th...One week from today and I am so excited and I may also need a Xanex To those of you that have had this would you please just remind us that the surgery itself wasn't too horrible and that the benefits far exceed many of our expectations?! This sounds crazy, but I am just searching to positive stories right now to help remain calm and focused. Can' wait to hear how you all do!

I am considering going with Dr. Minkin for LapBand. While I know this is a process I am looking forward to being aggressive about my weight loss. Would you say he gives you fills based on how your body is feeling? I have seen some posts about other Drs. being so conservative in giving fills that they are barely loosing. I want to make sure the Dr. I go with will listen to me and my personal needs, not just some basic time line for fills. Thanks for any info one this!

I have contacted my insurance and am in the beginning stages of working towards getting the Lap Band. I am so excited and somewhat anxious. I was wondering if any of you would give me your opinion on the best surgeons out of Des Peres, St. Alexius or SSM DePaul. Thanks in advance for any help or input.
