JakerT5 replied to Alli in StL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am a UPS driver I took a week and a half off working days I made sure to come back on a Thursday so I work two days and was off for another two , if you have a really physical job then at least take two weekends off and a week , even after the time off I was still sore to touch that area for a couple of weeks -

JakerT5 replied to NYdad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It does take a while for your self image to catch up , you spent so many years looking at a fat person everyday now it gone your brain has to get used to the new image what help me a lot is pictures I took of myself and now able to compare the old and new , so if you got pictures get them out take some new ones and just compare them and also get new clothes if you are still wearing the old ones it doesn't help , I spent a lot of money on in between clothes but it help me get use to my new body before surgey in january I went from 263 lbs , size 44 waist , 2xl shirt to 197 lbs size 34 waist , med to lrg shirt and in the last month I am getting used to the new me -
Don't beat yourself up just back on track the next day , I do a cheat weekend every three day weekend I will anything I want for that weekend and Monday I go back like it never happen , I found out it does help me to keep the craving down a lot the funny part I plan all this stuff to eat that weekend and never end up eating a quarter of it

This is one of the nicest forums I am part of because of lap band , if you came on here asking for help or ideas what's happening to you then you world get a great response for the people here , you are asking when can I eat whole foods again , you are complaining about doing a liquid diet for 12 days and already pushing to eat mushies and solids , most of the people here had to do a liquid for 2weeks pre op and 2 weeks for post op , and here you are pushing to eat solids already after surgury , you can't even wait till you heal to start eating like you used to before the band , if I came off mean then well I did a good job

Why we all start this journey together for the most from the beginning , before lap band to getting the band and in some cases the band coming out , in your case you had the band since 2006 and you come on here asking how soon can I eat after taking the band out , I don't care when you can eat again or how much , we don't know your history or nothing to why your band was removed to me it just seems like you are just slamming the band , if you didn't need anybody's help on here since you got the band then why do you need it now after you took the band out

When I see people eat like that I just look away and say that was me before and this is me now and I will never go back to that and keep on eating

my healthy BMI is 25 , now that means I will weigh 150 , I am 5'5 , so can you picture a guy who weighs that much , you could see my heart beat , my starting weight was 263 , my happy weight is 200 , and my goal weight is 180 , right now I weigh 200.4 , yeah what a tease , but I really can't see myself weighing 150 , I ask skinny guys at work who are the same height and they weigh , between 170 to 180 , so I set my goal at 180 , I will still be fat by the chart , but I have learn that chart is not so great , for everyone

Starting A Stall After Lap Band Surgery
JakerT5 replied to kassy_360's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
^^^^ 18 lbs in two months that is great , don't get let down , push trough it and keep going , the moment you give up you are done , so stay positive and take pictures , it will help with the mental part , I stay the same weight for a little , but inches keep coming off , and inches is what you are going to see over pounds -
Starting A Stall After Lap Band Surgery
JakerT5 replied to kassy_360's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't understand how people stall , I hear it all the time and I think people are doing more then they are saying , I got surgery on Jan 28 , did my post op diet , which help me start low carb , I started at 263 , now I weight 202 , and only 2 fills and my last one was in April , now I live by low carb , and I mean I live by it , there are days when my carb intake is around 20 grams , I have giving my self a couple of cheat weekends , memorial weekend and fourth of July weekend , so I don't go into craving mode , but if you are doing low carb right , then there shouldn't be a stall , so soon , how about starting over with low carb , and doing it right -
How happy are you with your body as you are losing weight?
JakerT5 replied to Joleen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The head game is a hard one for us , people say you look great , how you feel , I say great, but in my head all I am thinking is how fat I still look , the truth is we all can look good with the right clothes on , but we are the ones that know what we look like naked , and that is what we see -
So let's talk about our lap band surgeons for a second...
JakerT5 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow , all your doctors sound great , I saw my surgeon once day of surgery , had a phone call week later , never heard from again , my fill doctor and clinc , I have not heard a word from since April , I got my post op , and two fills , and that was it , I think I might had pissed him off , we was pushing fills on me and when I told him , I wanted to hold off a minute , he got mad and said I was making a mistake , and that was the last I heard from them , usually they will call you a few days later to see how you feel after the fill , but nothing -
They denied me at first saying I was doing it for looks because I didn't have any medical problems at the pre approval part , after all my testing , they found I had serve sleep apnea and was approved
