How Can People Who Share the Same Struggle Be So Judgmental?
Miss Na replied to BASIMAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Basimah, I felt the same way when i join on here. I felt I was taking more of the negative then the positive on here. And I remember i seen someone say if we live our lifes then we wouldnt have time on here worrying about what people say. Which I found this to be very true and I stop coming on here for a little bit, and I started living my life ... I did get a lot of great info from very nice people on here. But some people can be really mean. You are so right about the eating disorders and everything.. Very Well said! -
I got my surgery done on 1/14/11 and so far my weight loss is about 2 pounds a week. Of course I'm told thats good, but of course I want more. I started going back to the gym last week and really worked my butt off today. How ever I can say I guess im losing inches which is great, but looking in the mirr I just can't see it sometimes. Today my trainer at the gym gave me a workout plan as far as what to do at the gym every time I go. I havent kick in weights yet, but a little hesitate on that do to not dropping more pounds. I'm really focus right now and can't wait for my fill next month.... I have been doing my best and hope it pays off ....

3 Weeks post op...Doing great....BUT.....
Miss Na replied to Andy Dufresne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I had my surgery done on Jan 14th and since then I could say after surgery I felt the same way. I felt like i shouldnt be hungry cause i got this band. How ever I may have cheated a little bit like have a half of cup of rice or pasta and felt very guilty having it after. Which once in a while is ok to have. I am now learning that this diet is all on me. I've heard over and over the band is a tool and at times I feel the band is just there. I do know this right now i have no rectriction, but knowing that I have the band there I never want to over do it cause then I put my self at risk. I feel it's a mind thing right now and hopefully when you get your fill you will feel better. I have a friend who got this done over a year ago, and I explain the same thing to her, she just tells me to be patient and stick it through. It will get easier as I'm told!! Hope the best for you!! Congrats on your weight loss thats great!! -

This is good info to know!! I get my fill next month and I was wanting to know what to expect!! Thanx for the info!! -
I was told 3 meals a day and 2 snack in between. To never go 3-4 hours with out eating anything. And to make sure everything you eat has Protein in it of course to feel fuller longer. I'm also im the mash stage and feeling hungry every 3 hours.

Thanx for the recipe Honk!! I feel I can put anything down (so far) I never had any issues with not being able to put anything (liquid) after I left the hospital. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. Yest I had low fat cottage cheese and egg whites and I ate it with no problem. I see some people are having hard time with even that. So far so good with me!! Not due for a fill until 3/08/11 so I hope I don't feel hungry all the time. But I am going to try the ricotta cheese with eggs with the frozen cherries thanks!!

Thanks!!! I was just wondering cause I made a protien shake with a banana and when I total up the carbs it was pretty high. I was a little suprised how high it was, but it was really high in protien and very good. I was told to eat good carbs that come in fruits. I was also told it was ok to eat a smashed banana in this stage. So Its something good to know!! Thanks again for the info!!

Will I be able to sallow medication
Miss Na replied to Nancy Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cut mine in halfs and they are pretty small. I was crushing it and mixing it with sugar free apple sauce recommend by my doctor the 1st few days after surgey, but now I cut it in halfs and It goes down ok. And for pain my doctor was just telling me to take tylenol before I left the hosptial I told him I need something stronger so he gave me tylenol with coding in it for the 1st 5days liquid form. It did help! But everyone is different! Some people will have problems and some people wont from what I see. -
You are so right Robin G! It's def pschological and sacrifice is what I've learn in these 3 weeks. Tomorrow is a niece b-day party and I have to figure out if Im going to even go. Do I want to sit around everyone and watch them eat while my stomach is only full of liquids and I'm in that hungry stage hmm I dont really think so.. So I'm just wanting for the easier part which i hope is soon .... Thanks for the info!!
