Loretta.... your seeing Dr Nottle too, correct??!! When was your initial consult and have you seen the dietician and physician and had all the tests required?? Do you have to have a follow up with Dr Nottle?? Im asking cause i know a lot of public patients that wait onlt 3-6 months after that happens for the op. I will definately ask for you. take care. Thanks for that.... No i havernt managed to stay on Optifast for even a day....Im going to wait to see Dr Nottle ( 1 week today) :clap2: then if he says i have to go on it ... i will. I think because ive had to wait 6 weeks for even my initial consult that my motivation level has droped. Just a quick question to those of you already banded... post banding whilst in hospital did you have to have any sort of xray taken. Just reading the American site and they do... to make sure port is in correct position. ---------------------------------------------------- yet to be banded 1st consult with Dr Nottle: Monday 12/2/07 Dietician and Physician appoinments: Wednesday 14/2/07 I want to be banded NOW!!!!!

I think Susannah said that she is going to her sisters for a few weeks post-op so we may not hear from her until after that...

Hi Katrina and welcome to our supportive group. Wow!! Feb 14th isnt far away. Im still waiting for my initial consultation on 12/2/07 so i imagine ive got a while to wait. Im going private so hopefully not too long down the track.

Hi girls.... well my start on the Liquid diet didnt happen... i need a kick up the butt. Maybe when i see Dr Nottle on 12/2 i will begin to feel more motivated. its been such a long weight to finally see him as i originally booked an appointment in october and cancelled and have had to wait all this time after re-booking.

Hi all.... Loretta... I heard that werribee Mercy Hospital doesnt do Lapbanding. Apparently a day stay unit in Werribee does but as i said that is 'day stay' only. so... i think you'll be heading to Williamstown. As for me i guess going private i'll be going to Western Private Footscray. The dates given to public patients seem to vary. I know a girl who had her 1st consult in early september 2006 and had the op a few days prior to christmas and im sure she said she was public... just under 4 months wait. Does anyone know if Dr Nottles private patients can go somewhere other than Western Private?? Just curious.... Im over the MRI saga of yesterday and today is another 1st optifast day for me !!! Hey... those hospital gowns are damn small. I had to put one on prior to my MRI... well i tried to put one on. Wasnt a good look :embarassed:

The 12/2/07 is getting closer everyday and i cant wait. Im sick of looking and feeling huge. Had an MRI at the western Hospital Footscray today... it was horrible. Not only did they put dye in my veins and stick me in what i can imagine a coffin would feel like, i didnt fit in the hospital gown so i had to put 2 on ( one was 'suppose' to do up at the back and i threw on another one with the strings at the front) Hope all is well and then i dont see any reason why the operation wont happen asap.

Loretta... so youve had everything done and just now waiting for an op date??!! Did you have to have blood tests? Where are you going to have it done?

Thanks Girls.... im recovering from my MRI experience but... i broke my first day of Optifast. I was so distressed r/e the MRI that i looked for food :help: . Well... tomorrow is another day. I can do it!! I already know i have a fatty Liver as it is printed on the post removal of gallbladder report in 2000 so i really must pull my finger out and be strict with myself pre-op.

Hi Everyone... The MRI scan was horrible. They had to put dye through my veins. i am not happy!!! Apparently 1/3 of patients have to have mild sedation. I didnt but got close. I just closed my eyes and was having nice thoughts... on a beach with 50 hunks.. and yes i was thin!!! Morning all... well ive decided i cant continue to sit and eat my Hot Cross Buns :hungry: everyday waiting to see the surgeon on 12/2/07. I need to start preparing for this operation. Going for a walk yesterday was a start but now ive decided im going to start myself on Optifast (im joining you Susannah!!) therefore with already on a liquid diet and having jumped the gun and booked in to see the physician and dietician on 14/2/07... i might get to have this operation sooner than expected. The thing that i think will stall it all is if i have to have sleep study tests. Well im off for an MRI this morning which just quietly.. I cant stand.... Susannah!! you know all about it...... ------------------------------------------------------------- yet to be banded but obviously 'hanging out'

Hi all...r/e the 26yo girl 'Lauren"... it just said in the paper that she had the liposuction of butt and both thighs and went home the same day. Next morning she presented at the clinic with pain and bleeding and by 8pm she was dead. very sad!! we'll know more once the autopsy happens. I really think these day surgery cases are playing with fire... anything can happen following a procedure and more often in the first 24hrs. As for Lapbanding... as a nurse and as a prospective Lapband patient , i wouldnt consider day surgery for a single minute. Id feel much safer in a general hospital where they have adequate facilities and senior medical professionals are on hand. I was a good girl today... went for a 40 minute walk and boy was it hot!! or am i just severly overweight... both i think!!

Susannah... im sure your surgeon will be impressed. how much weight have you lost on the liquid diet?? Not many sleeps left for you. Seems like yesterday that i joined this sight and you had a few weeks left and now you/we are counting down the days.:hungry: I think i polished off 4 hot cross buns today. Do you/did you get reflux pre-banding. Ive been getting it quite badly of late. Of- coarse eating all the wrong things may have a lot to do with it!! I look at it this way........ im likely to be banded in March so my chances of hot cross buns then are nil. so... im going to enjoy them now. mmmmmmmmmm... might have to buy myself an early easter egg too.
