Thanks for that. I think this waiting game is the worse thing. Ive finally decied to have the op and now i have to sit and wait. I hope after i see him on the 14th feb that im all booked in and ready to roll.

I think i'll be having mine at Western Private too. How long were you in hospital? Did you have any post op problems. I experience a huge amount of pain in my chest, back and left shoulder post a past laproscopic procedure which they put down to the unreleased gas in my body. Im scared to go through that pain again. What pain killers did they give you after surgery?

Hi Fee... Ive joined a gym so hopefully once i have my op i'll actually go instead of just wasting the membership. I plan to try to tone up etc and see if that works prior to considering plastic surgery. Gotta try.... Did you have your lap banding in a hospital or day procedure??
-
Hi... I havernt considered plastic surgery down the track but im sure i will. I'll think about it when ive had the op and then achieved my goal weight. mmm... the boob job may be a definate. After 2 kids ive already got the saggy baggys. I can just imagin... hot body with boobs down to my knee's!!!

Okay.. thank you i'll do that. Im so glad i came across this site as i personally dont know anyone thats had lap banding so its all been very new to me.

First appointment is 14th February. I was initially ment to see him in October but cancelled due to 1/ not having the support of my husband and relatives 2/ wanted one last attempt myself . That was a complete failure as ive put on 4kg since then. After much descussion and telling my husband and close relatives that i am doing this with or without their support, they have accepted it. So.... im just waiting. I wonder if they have a standby list for any cancellations. Maybe i could be seen earlier that feb 14th. I hate the waiting game..

I still wouldnt feel comfortable having it done anywhere other than a hospital. Im nervous enough and i havernt even had my first appointment with Dr Nottle.
-
I wouldnt opt for day procedure. Am i correct that day procedure is not performed at a hospital but at a small endoscopy clinic or similar? I know everyone is different but when i had a past laproscopic procedure ( gallbladder) I stayed for 3 days in hospital due to the shoulder tip pain etc caused by the gas. Hopefully that was a one off and this time i'll just stay overnight.

susannah... I think the betaferon has really slowed down the MS for me. Have had lots of symptoms but no real attacks. Fingers crossed as i want to consentrate solely on weight loss and looking forward to having the lap band.

Well... ive made the initial appointment with Dr Nottle for 14/02/07. Happy Valentines day to me:nervous Rang clinic to see if i can have initial consult prior to 14/2/07 and I can..... 2 days earlier. Tomorrow or next week would have been great.

hi... Just went and saw my neurologist as i have a pass history of Multiple Sclerosis diagnosed in 1997 but no problems since. I asked him to write a letter to Dr Nottle r/e having Lap Banding. He didnt hesitate as he's seen my weight keep on an incline. Now.... i just have to wait for 14/2/07 when i see Dr Nottle for the first time. I wish i could see him NOW...

Thank you for the info. I think it will be an overnight stay for me.

Im not sure which hospital i'll have the procedure. Maybe Werribee Mercy or Western Private. Originally i was suppose to see Dr Nottle on 2/10/06 for a first visit. Silly me cancelled the appointment as i wanted one last attempt to lose weight myself....mmmm.... ive put on 4kg since then. I just cant wait...... i can picture myself as a much thinner me and it will be great not to break out in a sweat when cutting my toenails. Definately a task i have difficulty doing.

Hi... seeing my neurologist tomorrow afternoon so will get a clearance from him. I doubt that will be a problem. This will be my first visit to Dr Nottle on 14/2/07 so i havernt had any tests at all. Im going through my private health insurance so hopefully i wont have too long a wait. Im a bit nervous as i had my gallbladder out in 2000 and was quite sick afterwards. I felt like i was full of gas for days and couldnt get rid of it... not nice... hopefully that was a one off experience with a laproscopic procedure. so... when is your operation?? Im hopeing Dr Nottle says he can do it by the end of March. Since diagnosed with MS ive put on heaps of weight. Im relatively mobile with only a bit of numbness in hands and feet but i do get tired. take care Bronwyn

Dr Nottle appears to have had a great deal of experience. Hopefully when i see him on 14/2/07 he will give me a date for the procedure. ---------------------------- Diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis 23/12/97 age: 36 ( 1970) 2 children reside western suburbs Melbourne
