The Sweetheart's Challenge
Lindz629 replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry all it's been a busy day today! I maintained this week but I have stopped drinking with my meals. Finally! I've also been timing my meals and stop at 20 minutes even if I'm not at that full sensation yet. I've also picked up a new hobby. Believe it or not it's Metal Detecting! I get to hunt treasure and get exercise at the same time. I LOVE it! I do it with one of my other friends and she's loving it too. All the walking and arm work and then squatting to dig what treasure I have found. Simply amazing. Ok done blabbing! Hope everyone has a good week! -

The Sweetheart's Challenge
Lindz629 replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I woke up this morning extremely discouraged. I look at exercise as a chore that I don't want to do. Maybe it's just me wanting to start off with some big exercise routine when I need to start off small. I don't have the money for a gym and I always fall behind with those work out videos. Not to mention they make me feel like a fool because I don't look good like they do. Like Zumba. I freaking love Zumba but I've only seen the Zumba brand dvd's and even the basic one I can't keep up with on some of the steps. I just needed to vent and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make a work out not seem like a bothersome chore. Thanks for listening to me. -

New Year, New You Challenge 2011

Checking in at 268! No loss but no gain and I'm glad because it is now my time of the month. I decided to weigh myself just out of curiosity. Congrats to everyone!! I go in for a fill next Monday. I need one bad! I've got a 14 cc band and I'm at 8.1 cc's and I have very little restriction. My goal for this week is stepping away from the liquids during meals. I think if I set an exercise goal I set myself up for failure so I'm going in a different direction this week to see how things go. Keep numbers coming!! -
Ugh can't believe I'm posting this :-(

My doctor told me that as you lose weight your band will become looser because the fat around your stomach will be less so you will have to get small adjustments when that happens. -
I treat myself to one of the small ones no more than once a month so I can still have that coke flavor I crave. They don't give me any problems when I drink them so they should be fine.

Good Morning Challengers! How did your week go? I have been sick all week and I'm finally feeling better. I weighed in with my usual get up. The t-shirt and shorts I slept in. I was down another pound this week. Then I decided to weigh myself with my jeans on which is what I wear in the weigh ins at the doctors office. I gained 3 pounds with the jeans on. Holy smokes I didn't know they weighed that much! So I'm just going to change my weights to go along with my jeans. On a side note, when you post your weight can you please post your name with it? I go cross eyed trying to back track and find the previous post. Have a great day everyone! -
I'm here to introduce myself. My name is Lindsey and I have been banded for almost 7 months now. I've decided to try out this blogging thing to see what it's like so here is my first entry. The issues that I'm having has inspired me to start this blog to see what kind of feedback I would receive if any. First let me tell you a little bit about myself. Like I said my name is Lindsey and I am 23 years old. I have been over weight for as long as I can remember. Like a lot of people it has led to low self confidence and the feeling of not wanting to live in my own skin. I am a Cosmetologist and with those two problems, in my mind I have already set myself up for failure. I've wanted to be skinny my whole life. Constantly trying those fad diets. When I was in junior high, my mom and I joined Weight Watchers. We attended for one meeting and never went back. Go figure. When I was in my freshman year of high school I decided that I wanted to try one of those pills to help you get skinny. I immediately took to Trim Spa. I believe I took only three pills until I was over that. I've always been a person who wants to see instant results. After that I tried the Atkins diet. Losing twenty pounds in two weeks wasn't right. I was literally starving myself because all you were able to eat was meat and I've never been a meat person. I love chicken though. My senior year I met a new friend who was on Slim4Life. It worked and all if you enjoy eating bland chicken and steamed veggies at every meal. It just wasn't for me. My final attempt was to rejoin Weight Watchers where I lost forty pounds. I couldn't keep it off of course. My parents and I had basically given up until my mom came across the idea of the Lap Band. I was instantly excited. The thought of a tool helping me with my weight loss seemed like a dream come true. We followed all the steps through the insurance. The six month nutrition plan, going to see a psychiatrist, and a nutritionist, yada yada yada. After all that we got approved right away. I was the first up for the surgery and everything went smoothly. I had the best surgeon and nurses in the world. They were amazing. I've had great results up until now. Here is where I ask for advice from the reader of this fine entry. My battle with snacks. What are your tips on snacking? How do you bypass the temptations of these deliciously salty and sweet treats? I tell myself you can have one taste and that it is. Four tastes later and I regret even giving into my temptation. My other battle is with water. I'm so used to drinking water with my meals that I have a hard time not getting a glass when I eat. What are your suggestions on that topic? I'm needing some advice and I thank you in advance. I hope you enjoyed my first entry and I hope your personal journeys are treating you all well. Until next time.

I take the Krill Oil as well and I have had no problems either. No after taste, small pill, LOVE it! If you're a Costco member then you can get 90 pills for about $20 vs 60 for $20 at Wal-Mart.

Alright Danielle your weight has been updated! I understand if you can't make it to the computer so no worries. It's crazy how many people still haven't posted their numbers! *shakes fist* Haha -
Seeing this thread has sparked the fire under my booty to get out there and do some. I've always wanted to try it and I watched some videos online about it and I feel like I'm partying along with the people dancing. I love it!
