I was banded on 12/27/2010.. I had lost 28 lbs by my first check in February with a 3cc fill. Then in March I went and weighed in i was mortified , I gained 5 lbs . I tried the weight watcher diet , concious of what I take in , I even cut way down on the caloric intake , I exercised and changed much of my habits so I cant comprehend why I gained 5 . As of the 16th I had 3cc more add , I am now at 6 CC. Currently Fluid restricted till Saturday and then a soft diet. I feel like I already failed gaining the weight , what did I do wrong ? what should I eat ? I have Peanut Butter as a pick up but I am boring with food and meals so a big ole Help is being shouted .

Banded in Boston replied to nikki914's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going to shake this up from the bottom of 2 years being dusty . Peanut Butter .........When I have a need to eat because I am hungry this is my savior Turkey Chili -- You can puree after a filling with a lil salsa and sour cream , the small amount I use I dont skimp and use Fat free I use the regular.-Micriowave Pasta Free Ravioli.. spaghetti sauce , fat free ricotta and shredded low fat cheese. Microwave My 3 saving graces -

This is a good and bad thing. Bad if your a patient but good if your looking for a Band MD . I would hope that you would share the name so no others have to endure what you have . I would go one step fuirther and report him to the board of medicine and registration . I have a FANTASTIC MD .. Her name is Nicole Pecquex and she is in Massachusetts .. -

Well I received 3 CC and I have to say it was rather uncomfortable.. I am hungry but not that hungry .. I ate soft today ,,,, scrambled eggs were too dry and hurt a bit . I have slowed down on my chewing and how much I place on a fork . Its not quick and I am learning as I go too , so I am glad we have the forumns -
I was banded on 12/27.. Since then I have kept off 15 lbs but it is a struggle I am up and down a few pounds weekly , I feel like a roller coaster . I am as hungry as I was before the surgery but used weight watchers to keep on board and use less points as what I would normally do . so I am looking forward to this week . I however have had sticking already which I dont understand , Yes , perhaps I have eaten too fast and swallowed to quick without chewing , then again is that normal ? Rice , Toast , Some chicken .. it varies . vomiting is no fun and I am glad I know what it is like to "stick" I am just hoping that something isnt wrong . So , I am waiting for the "non" hunger and then satisfied on a small amount to find me and reduce me to smaller sizes while learning . Any suggestions ? Ideas ? How long before I see weight loss ? I am scared because I have been up and down for 6 weeks . Thanks and Happy Valentines day to all !!

Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread
Banded in Boston replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Being banded is not a solution. My friend was banded in April as should I have been but they found a tumor and I had to have that removed, for her it was a bad experience post surgical and all up to now zero weight loss etc , she didnt follow the diet completely and wanted to know when her body could feel the restriction she still claims she cant and I am beginning to understand her because I am hungry now too but I have to keep saying the band is a tool and I have to deal with my hunger by NOT doing it the old way and eating but creating something new that will be effective. I plan on using weight watchers , Heck I am thankful I will be eating solid foods and on 2 occasions she can empty me and that is Easter and Fourth of July , I plan on searching for some good recipes I can play with and exercising but this is a one meal at a time . Idont want to be on my meds , I want to be healthier, make good choices and share them with my family . I WILL succeed.. And when I join a ww meeting , I dont have to tell them anything just that I want to loose weight and let my dietician do the rest and figure out the points . -

Swollen?itchy?hurt? Annoyed
Banded in Boston replied to Pinkygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had dermabond but they looked so red and now between red and pink and lighter , I am trying to get the yellow betadine off !!.. When I gently touch the port site it is discomfort but not painfully so . I showered the day after I came home and I was told to use soap and Water on my abdomen, watch for any signs of infection . Now my wounds seeped a bit but gauze and bacitracin took care of it . I think when something that hasnt been explained to us or in the list of norms happens we panic. Its time to relqax and enjoy. Congratulations everyone -

I was banded on 12/27 . I cant say I had an appetite untill I got home , The gas pains brought me to my knees and I thought I was having a heartattack because of the gas pain in my shoulder AND I could not burp for a few days however, Gas X to the rescue !!! I have discomfort in my port site and some intestional gas that growls and groans. I did have some coffee and felt nauseous a bit after . Just the thought of 12 lbs I have to say has gave me such positive thoughts . I have shopped , clean , drove and walked .......positive thoughts Everyone -
