  1. Thank you. I feel like I have been run over but each day is getting better. After spending 5 nights in the hospital I'm ready to heal.

Need to get an unfill tomorrow

There is no rule about clear liquids for an unfill but generally when someone needs an unfill they aren't able to get more then liquids down. 0.5cc can make a huge difference. If you were good before you got the fill then have the full 0.5 removed but if you were hungry and needed more restriction try removing 0.2-0.3cc and see if that works. It is a small amount but it really does make a huge difference. I have a very touchy band and have had to have those small adjustments before. i am also private pay so i understand about the cost to keep readjusting your band. I have had my band almost 2 years and I have never been able to tolerate more then 2cc total in my band.

3-5 Foods You Can't Niw Live Without:

What is the website for PB2?

    Pb2

Do you get the side effects from PB2 like you do with real peanut butter? If I eat peanut butter I have horrific heartburn, PB, and a taste I can't get rid of for 2 days.

    I'm Not Ashamed.

Poo poo on those that judge. We are all going through this difficult battle together and as we know this wasn't the easy way out. I know my bestie gets her band too tight (thinking tight means weight loss), eats ice cream, and drinks enormous cokes instead of food. I have tried to talk to her a little but she is in denial about it so until she is ready to fight for her own health then there is nothing that will change. When i would casually mention getting WLS I would be judged on the other end with "you don't look big enough to have WLS" and I was a low BMI band patient but what people didn't see is that I was spending 10 hours per weeks at the gym to maintain being overweight. I tore my joints, feet, and emotional health up fighting this fight. So I knew I needed to make a change because if not when I got to a point I couldn't work out so much what would happen? So it was a personal choice and overall I am happy but I have struggled like anyone else.

    I'm Not Ashamed.

I haven't even told my parents. Sometimes people aren't supportive of these types of decisions and we have to protect ourselves.

Nope nurses are generally not supportive of this kind of stuff. Being a patient is different then a coworker. I worked with mostly obese nurses at the time and the remarks I heard them make to 2 other coworkers about their WLS was just horrible. I wasn't obese but I was overweight and I can imagine the things that would be said. My health, my decision, and my privacy. I changed jobs right before my actual surgery date and no one knows to this day. In the end it is our journey and if we want to be discrete then we can. My best friend also had lapband and she told everyone but she has not been successful (weighs more now then the day she had surgery) and she gets a lot of judgement from people.

    Pb

Ones anyone else eat their meals (and they seem to go down fine) but about an hour later start experiencing stomache ache and then PB? I had my band unfilled for surgery a few weeks ago but I have had more PB and vomiting since getting it loosened. I even had the morning stomache acid vomiting and have had to go on reflux medicine.

    Pb

It could be vomiting but a lot of the time I feel like I'm going to vomit and it is a lot of dr heaving and burping. Also if I lay on my left side I burp almost nonstop. I might have to book a flight to my dr.

    I'm Not Ashamed.

I have had my band almost 2 years and only my spouse and 2 best friends know. I didn't want to deal with people's judgement. I'm a nurse and nurses are horribly cruel to each other when it comes to elective surgery.

    Day 2 Preop... Coffee!

I could have coffee and creamer on my preop. Anything liquid but use any creams moderately were my rules.

Has This Happened To Anyone Before??

I have the same problem. I do not get more then 0.2cc per fill and the way of thinking that it will take too long is a mental block. I only have 2cc total in my band and have lost over 50 pounds and I was a low BMI band patient. Odds are you will not require a lot of fills to hit your sweet spot. For people like us (with sensitive bands) less is more.

    Protein Powder???

Jay Robb is pretty good. I noticed the other day that muscle milk has come out with about ten flavors in powder form. I did not read the label so I don't know if it meets your criteria. I also used to buy some that were more like crystal light and had a lot of flavors to choose from.

Amazed By What Other People Eat

I have found eating with the band has been as difficult as controlling my intake without the band. I have a very long list of things I can not eat (no matter how loose/tight my band is) and it makes for a very short list of food I can have. I get frustrated sometimes. When i see my bestfriend (banded a week before me) eat pasta, salad, and breads I wonder how she is not doubled over. It is hard to get calories in when its a short list with specific consistancy but I press on!!
  15. yup I am happy. There have been times along the way that I was frustrated that my loss was slow but in the end I am happy. Slow and steady wins the race!!!

Help Im Esting Fast Food !!

I'm surprised you can eat fast food. I can't eat any fast food but you know to eat protein, protein, protein. Cheese sticks, beef jerky, yogurt are good sources of protein. So if you go to McDonalds get a fruit n yogurt parfait, salad, or grilled chicken sandwich but don't eat the bread.

    No Fill... Ever?

Too many people get wrapped up in getting fills. The only indication for getting a fill is hunger between meals or not feeling full. Getting a fill does not equal weight loss because if you are in the green zone (and it sounds like you are) and you get to tight then you will have a lot of problems and not lose weight. I have heard some people never have to get a fill or some don't have to get one for a year. I did some research when I got my band and being in the green zone changes as you lose weight because you also lose a fat pad around your stomach. Try not to focus on fills and remember your goal. You are doing great!!!

Found A Way To Eat Around The Band

Why can't you get a fill? Yup you will probably just have to measure your food and add a mile of walking or something. Of course if you feel good and look good then sometimes those charts tell us we are over weight when we really aren't. I am tall and have hips, butt, and breasts and according to some charts I should weigh 140...LOL... It's never going to happen because I could never maintain it. At my current weight I am a size 12 but charts can't see how I am built.

    I'm So Miserable!!!

I just want to cry!!! My doctor put me on some hormones and other medications and I have gotten a migraine for the last three days. I am giving myself injections for the migraines but today my band tightened up to the point I can't even get liquid down. It's bad enough to have migraines but then to have the band tighten also..... I'm miserable!!!
