String cheese, baby bell cheese..........lite, are proteins that I can eat. Don't get stuck. My kids like them too. Easy to take with as a snack.

Vasovagal response ie fainting after fill?
mominoc replied to deneicy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi there, I've had 2 fills and no problems. Easy peasy. I've never fainted, so I think most fills go okay. I'm so happy with my band and losing weight, have hope. -
Hi....I have the same band/ size. Had second fill Monday and up to 7ccs. I def have more restriction now. I go back to Dr. in 8 weeks. They like me to lose 8 pds each time which I have done & then some. Love my band. Gail

"sweet spot", how many cc's to reach yours?
mominoc replied to size10again's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree that my fills help a lot with just not being so hungry. I get full faster too. Fills help me eat much slower. Going out to restaurants with others is kind of a joke. I always have to take most of my food home. I am grateful because I am a food addict and was never able to do for myself what the band does for me. I have 7ccs at this point. My surgery was 2/7/2011. Lost about 45 lbs now. Thanks. -
Hello, I got my 2nd fill yesterday and it went great. Its not painful and I was able to get 3 more CC's making my total band fill 7cc's now. The Dr puts a needle in your port and leaves it there while you sip water. If the water goes down okay you may get to keep all the CC's in the shot. My first fill Dr put in 5CC's, but had to take 1 cc out because the water didn't go down well. My fills have never been painful, they find the port easily and it doesn't take very long either. Today I am on liquids, tomorrow purees and third day solids. 7cc's is definitely more resrtriction.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
mominoc replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
P.S. : forgot to say that one of the biggest things for me is not sweating so much. Its gotten a little better, but know that losing the rest of my weight will really take care of that. I may even get cold! Ha I'm already less self conscious overall and when I don't sweat as much I will feel much better about everything. I want it all......a wonderful life! Thanks again. Gail in CA. -
Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
mominoc replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just wanted to thank you for this list. I need to remember my goals and the gifts I will have when I've lost all my excess weight. I have lost 50 so doing well. Banded 2/7/2011. Going in for second fill tomorrow, Monday, 5/16/2011. It is already easier to do things with my children (5 and 6 yrs old), to get into booths, to have more energy, so I am excited about how great it will feel with the rest of my weight off. I love my band. Wish I had gotten it yrs ago, but wasn't ready then. I finally got it that I'm an addict and that I did need banding. I have hope now and realize I was never a failure, just an addict. I'm happy my kids aren't fat and that now their mom won't be either. Thanks for reminding me of all the 'goodies" I get from continuing to lose my weight. Gail in Ca. -

I now have 4CCs fill in my 11 CC Realize Band. My second fill is May 16th. How much of a fill might I expect for a second fill? Thanks for any information. Gail

PS: I also have an 11 CC Realize Band. Thanks. Gail

I know this msg is from 2010, but this msg expresses exactly how I felt & how banding has also helped me. I have an internal tool now that helps me so much in saying No to foods. I don't eat @ night now, I don't crave foods nearly as much and so many foods I used to binge on have been removed. It was easy before banding to feel like a failure on diets and in OA, but now its like I have gotten the right medicine for my addiction to food, banding. I lost weight in OA and gained it back 7 yrs later. I lost on diets out of OA and gained it back. Not until banding have I felt like its my choice what I eat. I was never a failure, I know that now, I just needed more help & banding has been that help. Easier softer way? Nope, just the realistic way for my food addiction as I see it. I know God approves too. Thanks.

Dr. Leport and his staff in Orange County, Ca.
mominoc posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr. LePort who has the Obesity Center @ Orange Coast Memorial has a wonderful program. My friend had Dr. LePort for her surgeon & I had Dr. Ali for mine, who is also in that same group of Doctors. No complaints at all. I just found out that Dr. LePort has purchased the school my two children attend too. I'm sure he will bring the same professionalism to our school that he has in his practice. I have had no problems with my band (Feb. 7, 2011) and have lost 40 pounds so far. I am very happy! thanks. -

. Maybe you have already found a Dr, but I went to Dr. LePort in Orange County, Ca. (Fountain Valley). He has the Obesity Center @ Orange Coast Memorial Hospital. I have had great experiences. Surgery was good, recovery good, and I'm down 40 pounds now. Surgery was Feb. 7th, 2011. I'm grateful to live where good Doctors work. -
Oh, I got stuck without a fill too. Hurt like h*ll. Now, have one fill 4cc. Lettuce got stuck last night @ a restaurant & I slimed. So embarrasing. I have to remember smaller bites and make sure lettuce has some dressing on it. I'm 3 months new, so figuring it all out.

Fiber gummies? I'm going to have to look for those! Thanks.
