Knew others who had gastric bypass, but didn't want that.  When I decided I wanted/needed the band, I was ready for surgery within two 1/2 months.   I was banded Feb. 7, 2011 and have lost 55 pounds so far.  My goal is another 55 pounds.
 
I knew if I wanted a quality life without pain and health issues, I had to get the weight off.  I had tried every diet basically.  I was a member of OA for years too.  I finally knew I was a person who needed an internal tool to help me.  The band made sense.  I love having the band now and am grateful I have it's help.  I take good care of it by eating properly and slowly. 
The band has probably saved my life, no question.
