Keep your head up and things can only get better with the band. I had surgery 12/30/10. So far I have lost 20lbs! I'm very excited! One thing that has helped me is I walk alot and I go to the gym 2's a day, in the morning before work and the afternoon after work. One thing that I have learned, you MUST eat alot of protein! I eat 80 grams a day in protein in three meals with no snacking in between but I drink about 10-14 24oz glasses of water per day. Remember no liquid calories either. Come on banders, you can do it!

Invest in a office excercise bike, basically you sit in your office chair and under your desk or anywhere in your office they sell just the pedal part so you can workout. I had to invest in one of those since I sat at my desk so much, I sit at my desk 90% of my day. It really works and helps, low carb diet and more protein is the trick for me and don't forget about your vitamins, calcium and iron! Good luck!

Hello Fellow Band-Members! My name is Rueben from San Antonio TX. I'm a new bander going on 2 Days Strong! My surgery date was 12/30/10, what a Xmas and new years present to myself. I'm still in alot of pain and have hella gasses coming out of both openings, I know TMI but it's the truth. I've been drinking protein shakes, sipping on alot of water, doing my breathing excerises and walking around for atleast five minutes! My pain meds don't seem to work or help bur I know within time I'll be a brandnew Man! I'm looking foward for 2011 and the future! Happy New Year! God Bless & Good Luck! My current weight is 6'6 499, my new years goal is 6'6-375. It's going to be a long tough journey, but it's all or nothing! I've come this far, why not step it up and keep going!!! -

Grace, 2 Days strong here after lapband! I'm still in pain with all the gas. When I got out of recovery I couldn't sleep for that night until I got home and slept for 4 hrs. I ate a small sugar free jello on day 2 and it took three different times to finish it. I'm so excited! Pre-Op I was 510, 2 days later I'm 499, I'll take them 11lbs anyday! I'm so excited! I wish you the best in 2011. Now you have more time with the kids, husband and more time to read and educate the mind.

Kim, I just had the surgery done 2 days ago! Best decision ever, I have been working out, dieting and struggling for the past year. I decided to eat a regular size sugar free jello today and it took me 4 hours to eat it! I was so stuffed everytime! I went from 510pre-Op to 499 in two days. 11lbs, I can't believe it and I'm so excited to see what the future has in store for me! If you have any questions know you have a friend in TX! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Fellow Banders! I'm on day 2! I had a small sugar free jello and could not believe it took me 4 hours to eat it! I kept getting full! I'm so excited! Good Luck to everyone and keep your heads up! Happy New Year from TX! -
Jennifer, My name is Rueben from San Antonio. I just had the surgery done Thursday 12/30/10 and was released 12/31/10 in the evening time. Personally I was looking foward to this for one whole year. I guess I got a Xmas present and new years present all in one. To answer your question, I have not felt the feeling of nausea yet, but I have felt alot of pain. In recovery, they gave me three different pain killers, then when I went to room I could not sleep from all the pain. I was up all night on the 30th to I got released. Make sure you drink plenty of Water, and follow the rules. Today I ate a sugar free Jello and it took 4hrs to eat it, I kept getting full and the hiccups let you know it's time to call it quits. I'm so excited about this life changing decision and I wish you the best. If you have anymore questions or if your nervous, please reach out to me! Happy New Year! Rueb in SA!
