HI. I am 64. checked into gastric bypass about 15 years ago. Did not go through with it. Now is the time. Glad I am getting the lap band. I saw my cousin recently that just lost 73 pounds in 8 months with the lap band. Does she look good!! I cannot put this off any longer. As I read and thing about the restrictions (really are not that many!), I wonder why not do it on my own. Then I look at me and realize I need help. I cannot wait. I have met with surgeon, Dr. Toullitos of Birmingham, AL, and am waiting for approval. Fortunately State Employees with BC/BS do not have the 5-6 month diet to follow. I have an "anomally" with the EKG and have an appointment with a cardiologist. I told them I have had a heart murmur all my life before the EKG. Still, it does give a pause. Am hoping for surgery towards end of January.

I had started the process first of October with another group. Strange. Bariatric coordinator was suppose to call after I sent in insurance requirements. I called her week before Thanksgiving. She had forms in hand and would call me right away. 2 1/2 weeks later I called her. I was #5 on her list to call. Haven't heard from her yet!! Wierd. I am so happy with Dr T. His office is so "geared" to this surgery. It is not an after thought. A very impressive group.

Am ready to get this done!! So tired of time I have wasted in my life. However, I am where I need to be right now! Happy New Year to all!
