Travel After Surgery
peacequeen replied to Eat That Frog's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might ask your doctor that question especially since every surgeon is different with rules regarding travel. I think it depends on how far you are planning on travelling, by car,,plane..etc. -
You Should Really Get Professional Help!
peacequeen replied to sramos89's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I've only made suggestions of therapy only because I'm in therapy myself,,and it has helped..me. I think most have to go through a psychological eval anyway so whether I suggest it or someone else does,,more than likely they will see a psych if they want the surgery. I agree,,it's all in the words and how you say it. I certainly don't want to offend anyone. This is a place to come for information,,sometimes it comes in the form of advice from experience and sometimes from opinion,,you just have to be open minded enough to accept it and try not to be so uptight over it. I learned that here after being smacked down a couple times. -
Labor Day Challenge 2012
peacequeen replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 215.4 this morning so I made my goal..with the exception of that .4 to be technical about it.lol I know I've had a small loss but I lost 6 pounds this week alone doing lilmissdiva's bootcamp...boy does it work! My goal till Monday is to maintain or lose more. -
Thank you, S4M..you are an inspiration to me so your support means alot! I can't wait to make it to ONEderland..that will be my halloween goal
-
I want to make my Labor day challenge goal so bad..so I worked my butt off this week. I did a day of all liquids then I hit it hard with VERY low carb. It paid off because I went from 221.4 last Saturday to 215.4 this morning...I lost 6 fricking pounds this week! I don't think I've ever lost that much in such a short period of time and I could only do moderate exercise. Lilmissdiva's bootcamp inspired me so thank you, Diva!

Vsg & Hypo Thyroid
peacequeen replied to ChristyLove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 of my 6 sisters as well as myself have thyroid disease/conditions and we all have children,,my mother also had hypo and had 8 kids. I'm sure if you let your thyroid condition go and not treat it, it would cause all sorts of problems. -
Truthful Regrets, Anyone?
peacequeen replied to Tiff187's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry you are having such a bad experience. I have no advice for the hair issue as mine is falling out too. But have you talked to your nutritionist about the slow weightloss? Have you tried changing things up a bit? I was having the same problem so I started really cutting carbs. I eat lots of protein meat and veggies..small amounts of fruit and the weight is coming off much faster. You might tell your doctor about the low energy level because it may be due to a medical problem such as thyroid..wouldn't hurt to have it all checked out. I hope things get better for ya -
Truthful Regrets, Anyone?
peacequeen replied to Tiff187's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those who know me at this site know what I've been through during the whole sleeve process. I've had my share of complications and difficulties and I've also had my share of regrets. But I can honestly say I have overcome all of it. The weight will start dropping and you'll feel better everyday. You'll be able to do things you either never have done or wanted to be able to do again. You will get surprising comments from people, wonderful compliments. Children will even take notice and you know how honest they can be. Food will become something for survival and necessity instead of a habit and you will wake up one morning and realize it and things will just change..your eyes will open. You are so early out, it's very difficult to put things into perspective at this time so I would just focus on doing what your supposed to do..fluids, protein, excercise,,etc..and let the warm fuzzy feelings come with time. I know it's so hard but you made a decision to take charge of your life. It doesn't seem like the perfect thing having the surgery right now but you will be so glad someday soon and all the bad experiences you are having will fade. Although it's so wonderful, it's not just about the cute clothes or the compliments for me. I'm going to be so much healthier and live my life instead of watching others around me live theirs. -

Vsg & Hypo Thyroid
peacequeen replied to ChristyLove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was diagnosed with hypothyroid over 25 years ago, later diagnosed with hashimotos. I've had all of the symptoms and as for meds,,it's hard to keep under control but all I can do at this point. Removing the thyroid has been suggested and since I'm going to be taking meds for the rest of my life, I would probably do it if it came down to it. It's stable right now. Pre surgery I was on 225 mcg synthroid but since surgery I'm down to 200 mcg,,unfortunately my doses change about twice or more times a year so this will likely change again. -
I've lost alot of hair but new hair is coming in. The really cool thing is that I apparently lost some gray hair and my dark hair is coming back in so I haven't had to color my hair in 2 months now..the gray is going away. Has anyone else had this happen?

Never ever accidently drink a glass of wine then take ambien shortly after If you take it,it's best to take it right as you are going to bed,,don't take it early because you'll do all kinds of weird s***.

I should've read the whole post first..disregard my earlier post asking about fat/oil to cook with.
-
Diva, can you prepare the meat and eggs in some sort of fat..olive oil? What do you suggest?
-
I'm feeling down and disappointed in myself. I had a yardsale this weekend and maybe I wasn't being as food conscious as I should have been. I am back up to 221.4. Starting bootcamp tomorrow.
