    December sleevers!

frumpy,,you'll make it happen! Congrats on your date and good luck!!
  2. I think Lissa gave some GREAT advice! Change things up, it can't hurt.
  3. Lissa,,thanks for the info because it does feel good to know that we will be able to eat those foods again,,but in moderation and much smaller amounts. I just meant during this liquid stage I have to say goodbye. It will be hard to say no when I have to cook for a husband and kids but I'm a creative cook so I will make the best of it. When I can have that one protein and veggie meal..it will be full of flavor and I think it will be fulfilling. I'm going on motivation right now so I have that going for me. For so long I've been depressed and unmotivated,,you just get no where when you get like that. I have my head in the game now and I will be pushing hard to get what I want from all of this. My biggest goal is to get off of meds and have fun with my family..so that's the biggest motivation. Keeping my eye on the prize!
  4. So I have a few days before my pre op diet starts, should I start early or take this time to satisfy my every taste bud with every restaurant that I've ever loved. I am torn,,I feel like I have this extra child and need to give him/her up or like part of me will be dying and I need to do a food bucket list. Do others feel this way? How are you overcoming and getting passed the food funerals?
  5. Gotcha..I will say this past week has probably been enough for me. I've eaten at a few of my favs so I decided as soon as I posted this, to start on something. I'm journaling what I take in and incorporating protein in slowly before the 13th. I'll eat a sensible dinner and have a healthy snack in between. On the 13th, I'll be on 2 meal replacements and then 1 meal consisting of lean protein and non starch vegetables (rabbit food...how exciting) I do love veggies but goodbye pizza and pasta, goodbye loaded cheeseburgers, goodbye chocolate and goodbye ice cream. I'm going to be doing some creative shake making.lol
  6. Congratulations! You look fantastic,,and great story. I can't wait to be free also.
  7. Congratulations! I'm so excited for you..good luck on your new life journey

    Meal Replacements

I have to go on a 2 week pre op diet. I was told to use meal replacements 2 x a day. I've bought some samples of different products and brands,,I had a couple sample packets that read specifically "meal replacement" I looked at nutrional info and they do have all the extra vitamins whereas the regular protein drinks just provide you with basically protein. Does anyone recommend a good meal replacement?
  9. I start my 2 week pre op diet on the 13th. Instructions say that I need 2 meal replacements along with 1 high protein meal (meat, cheese, egg, veggies..etc). Does anyone know of a good meal replacement? I have alot of protein mixes but that's not the same,,is it?
  10. Since I have 3 weeks to kill, I'm planning on getting prepared during this time. Problem is, I'm not sure what to do and where to begin. I know I want to do some house cleaning and get some smaller clothes ready, I want to work on me a little and get my hair done. I've been stocking up on protein supplies so going to get those all set up in the cabinet and ready to use. What are some things I need to be preparing for? Am I overthinking? I have a one track mind right now...surgery.lol

  12. I am so overwhelmed,,it's like winning the lottery or something!! I just can't believe it,,it's been over a year since I started the process. I was so down in the dumps just yesterday (feeling ashamed of herself for being inpatient)..and now what an awesome feeling. I was given Dec. 27th to begin my new life. Thank you, God and thanks to all those who pep talked me along the way. I couldn't have done it without you. What a roller coaster of emotions,,I'm laughing a crying at the same time.lol

    Preparing For Gastric Sleeve

Yay!!..going home!! You're not scaring me After having several surgeries, I have anticipated the pain. I know everyone is different in terms of pain and their threshold for handling it,,are you able to move around ok? Is the pain from the incisions or does the pain come from the removal of the stomach or both? That's a great idea about the meds,,I would've probably forgotten that very important step as I do all the time as it is.lol

One Week Till Gastric Sleeve Surgery

blackanese25, I spent time in icu several times over the past couple years and numerous hospital visits and am all too familiar with the heparin shots. They will just gather a small piece of the fat from a love handle and stick it with a teeny needle,,it's about 1/4" long and very skinny,,sometimes I never felt them..not bad. The most pain was a small sting from the heparin but I never felt the actual needle. I hope this doesn't just scare you more.
  15. Thanks, Lissa, sleeve 4 me, 2bfit, fluffy, liliana, and dominique. It's exciting joining those of you who have already been sleeved,,I've learned so much from you guys. It'll be amazing for all of us new sleevers to follow each others journeys together. Good luck to yall!

    December sleevers!

donniej, welcome to the family..lol Congratulations to you! Bcole, I hope the anxiety gets better. I've had several surgeries and though it seems scary, it's quite relaxing and is over so fast. You'll go to sleep and when you wake up, you won't have remembered anything and you will be all new and ready to move on to your new life. I've been having crazy dreams too. It might be because my brain is very active right now, I'm thinking about my new life, thinking about the surgery,,etc. Good luck on your journey

    December sleevers!

I feel so bad for all my whining but I have a date..it's Dec 27th...woo hoo!!!
  23. That's a great letter! Very well written with all the information they might need to know about the surgery, your doctors, the hospital..etc. It does seem easier to write it all out like that. I'm happy for you that you've rec'd such great responses so far!

    December sleevers!

It's not all the tests,,I understand the reason for them,,it's just they keep losing track of my results. I'm told things are being faxed and sent when they aren't. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement though,,it really helps. I've calmed down alot.lol
