  1. Hi Mel34, When I went through exactly what you are going through..I finally had to tell myself,,she is getting everything in order. She's crossing every T and dotting every i before it gets sent. You want it this way,,you do not want to go through denial and appeals process,,that will just hold things up longer. Whether that's the case,,tell yourself that and like the others say, keep yourself occupied. Browse online shops to see what styles you'll wanna wear, vacations you'd like to take once you get weight off. Make yourself a bucket list of things you'll want to achieve. Pamper yourself with a new hairstyle. You have to keep your eye on the prize. I'm on my pre op diet and Chike strawberry Meal Replacement and Syntha 6 chocolate Protein is very tasty..no after taste..I was impressed. I also got the unjury chicken powder broth, it's very bland so I add a 1/2 chicken bouillon cube to it,,it's perfectly good. The lady at GNC recommended a multi Vitamin powder in chocolate. It can be added to my shakes, pudding or drank alone. I got a good measuring tape, Iron, vit d, vit c, vit k, Biotin, b Vitamins,,etc. I thought,,that's alot of stuff too.lol It's crazy..almost made me question everything. I spent a fortune. You can check out www.unjury.com, www.mybariatricpantry.com , www.netrition.com ..hope this helps. Keep us posted. Good luck on your journey!
  2. I have a 2 week pre op diet and it was very vague as to what I need to eat. High protein, low carb/fat..I have no idea what to buy. I was told to do protein shakes/replacement meals,,but I could mix things up a bit by adding stuff to them..but I don't know what. I can eat high protein lean meats but how much?? I have no idea. Green leafy veggies,,but I don't know if I can have all veggies and can I eat fruit? I feel so stupid that I didn't ask,,I was so wrapped up in asking about the actual surgery. The nutritionist consult seemed very thorough but now that I'm home, I'm clueless and searching the forums for a grocery list.
  3. Thanks everyone! MissE, I would love those recipes..and I do love mashed cauli..yum.

    Food Funeral

Since I was in the process for over a year,,I had many food funerals. And then I would diet to make up for it,,back and forth I did this and it was so unhealthy. In the end I was just a few pounds up from my original weigh in but still,,I could've really blown it. I would not recommend alot of last suppers. Maybe plan 3 nice dinners where you don't really limit yourself..but be very careful the rest of the time. Just a suggestion but you don't want to have to lose even more weight after you are sleeved..or risk getting surgery cancelled because they think you aren't trying. I was freaking out the last week before my last clinical with the surgeon. I didn't want him to see me a ton heavier than when I began.
  5. Capt Derel..That's about what my post op diet looks like but the pre op diet is 2 meal replacement shakes and 1 meal consisting of a meat protein and veggies. I can also have egg, cheese and nuts. My problem is they didn't give me any specifics like what kind of anything or how much. I'm just going to wing it. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I think I was very flustered when I posted because I wanted it all laid out simple so I could make a grocery list and just go get what I need. I think I'm going to have to make an actual menu then go by that then come up with my own reasonable portions.
  6. I need help compiling a list of questions,,I know I should have them but I've learned so much here,,I don't know what to ask..not that I'm an expert but i can't think. Please help,,I see the surgeon in the morning.
  7. That video was so moving..I didn't expect it. Thanks for sharing that! You just motivated me even more. Congrats on your success!!
  8. I am having a fantabulous day. My appt went very well,,I was down 4 pounds from the last time I weighed in there (still not at my original weight at first weigh in but hey,,good on me anyway). I suffer from anxiety, my therapist said I was all worked up because of thoughts about surgery, getting ready for the holidays and everyday stressers that maybe brought on my mood. It's like a new day today though,,thanks for being concerned for me!! You guys are the bomb! I have 2 weeks left which means I started the pre op diet today. I know it sucks but I'm so excited because it means I am that much closer to surgery!
  9. Thanks everyone, I got to use a few,,but not all of them as my appt was this morning. My surgeon actually answered almost everything and the nutritionist answered the rest. I had a few questions but mostly concerning personal things about myself.

    Fab 40's shout out

I missed this forum,,wish I had found it sooner. I'm 46 and married to a wonderful man who is my rock and very supportive in all I do..I'm blessed. I'm a mother of 3 children and 3 stepchildren and also a grandmother of 4. I am a photographer and hope to be in front of a camera someday instead of always behind it. I've struggled with my weight my whole life but am very hopeful and confident that the sleeve will be a wonderful tool to help me finally succeed with my weightloss. I will begin a new life on 12/27/11.

I'm seeing the surgeon tomorrow for my last clinical appt and I start my pre op diet tomorrow. I feel confused and very moody. 15 days till my surgery, I hope I don't have many days like this. I obsess over the surgery and my life after,,I can relate to christin.
  16. Wow, you look like a movie star! Could you share how you toned up?
  17. Though it's all funny and embarrassing to some,,this is some good info to know in advance..thanks everyone!
  18. I've heard of accidents when you're sick or something. I haven't been sleeved yet so no, I hadn't heard of sharting before for no good reason..lol I'm trying to understand why sleeved people have this problem? But yall say it is temporary? Or did anyone say that?

Can someone tell me if you are supposed to go off of nexium? If so, when? I've looked through the manual and can't find this info.

    Nexium

I have gerd so I've taken it for a few years. I'm on it now and my dos is 12/27. I had to go off of my hormone patch and celebrex,,I've heard alot of talk about nexium so wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks!
  21. I want to jump on the trampoline with my son without peeing on myself I want to set in a movie theater without hearing "don't sit behind her,,she's covering the whole screen" I want to wear sexy boots I want my sexy back in bed with my husband I want to wear cute clothes I want to belly dance I want to have the singing voice I once had (breathing is an issue) I want to wear shorts when they won't ride up between my thighs I want to go ropelling I want to go on long photo shoots I want to be in my family photos
  22. There may be a thread somewhere or I could look through all the posts and check tickers..but..I was wanting to know how much you post op sleevers have lost and in how many months to date. It's just more motivating for me, even more than photos. I know it's just a number but 286 defines me right now..not really but sometimes I think it does.
