Happy,,I know it has to be very discouraging. I've read alot on the site when people have stalls to change things up a bit,,try eating less or try eating more. Do different excercise programs..stir things up a bit and see if that changes anything.

I knew a leak was a very small possibility. We never want it to be us but it can happen. I wish I had known more about leaks and the process of healing from one. 2 weeks in the hospital, 3 weeks on tpn (this means no food or liquids,,you are fed by a picc line)..which is also not so comfortable. I wish I knew that once my leak was healed that I would have to start back to square one where my diet was concerned,,at 4 weeks out from surgery,,I was back to clear liquids then full liquids,,mushies,,etc. I wish I knew you can/more than likely will gain weight on tpn,,I had lost 24 pounds on my pre op and 1 week after surgery combined..but then on tpn I gained back 13 pounds. So when I say back to square one not only diet but trying to get that weight back off was a little disheartening. I have 3 pounds to go where I had left off and I had surgery on Dec 27th. I wish I had known that eating normal food would be hard to get down and keep down (probably not for everyone but it happens often enough). All that said..I am now at the point that I can say I am glad I had this surgery. As for what people say about having surgery, you have to look at your reasons for having it and weigh if it's more important than what people think of you having it,,you'll get your answer and not care what people think,,if that makes sense

Hi, I'm not sure you realize it,,but you have your question posted on someone elses post. You may want to do your own post with your question so everyone can have a chance to help you To gain some strength,,even though you aren't hungry, you will need to make yourself eat. Get the protein in and try to get your liquids in,,it's so important. The diet that I was given was 1 week clear liquids, 1 week full liquids, 1 week purees/mushies then soft foods,,slowly incorporating solids.

I loved my recliner..it made my life alot easier.lol It was just difficult for me to lay flat in my bed so to recline but elevate my upper body helped me to get rest. I've been through my share of complications,,had my regrets but I'm feeling better (aside of the heartburn/indigestion). I wouldn't say I regret the surgery now. Would love to get rid of these pesky issues but I think as I lose more weight, it will probably get better or there is something out there that I can take that will lessen my symptoms.

Yes, I have dyspepsia,,with all the symptoms.lol I had gerd before surgery and my symptoms have worsened. I'm on nexium 40mg 2x a day along with 150mg zantac 2x a day..this is not working. I was told if this didn't work, I may want to call my gastro for further evaluation so I'll be calling tomorrow.

jasleeve,,I am so sorry for all you are going through,,I really can relate. I think the best thing I could do for myself was stay confident and think very positive and keep faith. It really made a difference for my healing. I had my bad days,,my husband saw the evil in me.lol But I could't post negative till I seen the positive that could come from this.

When i was going through my own complications,,I had a leak too..I tried to keep on the down low. I knew at that time that my opinion would be harsh where the sleeve was concerned so I only gave updates instead of giving my opinion of the sleeve. I am slowly beginning to feel better,,still have a few issues but with time, I think it will all pass and I will be very happy with my decision. I didn't want to sway people from making a life changing decision by bashing the surgery. It may have its problems but I think for the most part it is a great thing. It's like if you have cancer,,,chemo has side effects,,horrible ones but one may go through without because of it being a last resort and desperation for healing. I think the sleeve is not the same but similar to certain extent.

Saw the pa yesterday,,she prescribed zantac to go with my nexium??? I really don't think that's going to do the trick but I'll try anything. If it fails,,calling my gastro..it's getting serious. I'm running a fever today, starting to scare me a little.

This might be tmi? I've tried everything but for the life of me, I can't get eating right. I've tried eating slow, tiny bites spaced out,,drinking and not drinking with my meal. I've even tried standing up and walking when eating. I can't digest food right. As soon as I'm done eating I get waves of nausea and then it feels like a bunch of belches will come up but it's liquid..if I let it out,,I'm gonna toss my cookies. This goes on for over an hour after I eat. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or what I could do differently?

My doc released me to excercise,,said I was doing great. My only problem is reflux. I also had gained 13 pounds from TPN but had lost 8 of that,,I'm almost down to what I had originally lost. What a great day!!

Diva..I haven't tried prilosec/or generic..I'll try anything. I'll check it out. Indymom,,is that a script or otc? I hope my dr can shed some light tomorrow at my appt. Thanks guys.

If you feel it was too soon to go home, maybe you should go to the ER so they can care for you..more than likely re-admit you. Bless your heart!!! I hope you get better real soon.

I have an appt tomorrow so I'll make sure to ask. I just thought if some of you here had experienced this then I could rest better tonight knowing it's not just me. My leak is supposedly healed up so I don't think that is the culprit..I'm not having any of that kind of pain. I sort of agree with KellyL, it might be acid. I was taking nexium, even before surgery,,,I have gerd. It's not working anymore so I'm trying previcid and so far, not working much better so I'm not sure. I think I'm going to try a day with all liquids again and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for all the replies.
