  1. Sorry, I hate not being able to edit my posts once I post them..I didn't know all the "font" info would be on my post.

    Application Approved.

Are you talking about insurance approval or your paper work for the surgeon's office? You can read my signature notes and it shows you what I went through but every surgeon's requirements are different. I had alot going on because I have alot of health problems. From what I've read around the site over the past year most get labs, xray,,some get an endoscopy, barium swallow,,etc if they have swallowing issues, hernia or ulcers. Some doctors and/or insurance companies require a pre op diet. The time span on this can vary. Most doctors require a post op diet, I've seen only a few that don't. If you are self pay, you might have surgery quicker than those of us who have insurance. Insurance companies have their own requirements and have you jumping through some hoops. Everyone's process is different.

    Crazy Dreams!

I had the same dream several times during my pre op diet,,I dreamed of devouring a chicken leg and was dipping it in bbq sauce,,I had it all over me.

    Help Desired, Please

I can't offer any other advice than what has already been given. I just wanted to make a suggestion..if you are a spiritual person then maybe you or you and your husband can talk to a pastor/preacher/priest. They don't normally charge.
  5. It's so hard to believe Whitney Houston is gone :(

  6. It may not make you feel any better but this is kind of the way I have seen it in my case. It's kinda been like having a baby for me. You go through 9 months of anticipation, anxiety, frustration...In the moment of giving birth,,you scream, you are in the worse pain of your life,,you just want the thing out of you..then you see the beauty and happiness that came from what you went through. Of course you don't see any of the good stuff till the bad stuff has passed.
  7. LMAO..."if the lawyer isn't removing this stent......etc..." literally laughing out loud! You feel like crap but you have to laugh at yourself on that one..it was great.lol
  8. So glad to hear you are having a better day!
  9. I was on a much higher calorie tpn..I gained 13 pounds but it was worth it and I lost the 13 pounds a little over a week after I went off of it. If you feel as bad as you say you do,,I can't believe they haven't suggested this to you either.
  10. Yes, it's with a picc line,,it sounds like what you need.
  11. btw..I guess I should say I'm a success too,,even though I had complications. That was a bumpy ride but my sails are rising and things are smoothing out. I'm so excited to start my new life. 24 pounds doesn't sound like alot but I got that much off and my breathing is better,,my ankles aren't hurting as much..I'm seeing the little differences. (sorry for the 2nd message,,I just forgot to say some things.lol)
  12. I'm at the beginning of my journey even though I had my surgery on Dec. 27th. I had a leak,,was on tpn (fed by iv) for 3 weeks,,that meant no food or fluids,,at all. I gained 13 of the 24 pounds I had lost in 2 weeks,,,that stunk. I was asked if I had regrets and at that time I said yes,,I think I do. But then I got to go home,,was still on tpn so I was swinging between regret and maybe not regret. Then they took me off tpn and in 9 days I lost those 13 pounds so now I'm back to where I was..feeling pretty good,,losing weight,,still learning to eat but saying all of that..I would do this again. You're doing the right thing by asking lots of questions and doing your research. Complications happen but alot less than the successes.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....

I had lapro also,,and it was painful for me too..and I've had a csection, complete hysterectomy, a stomach tumor removed, gallbladder removed,,etc... I also hoped this to be my "miracle solution". After having complications,,I wasn't ready to say I have no regrets also..I can say I don't regret it now but I'm doing better each day. I don't think anything you said made you appear to be disillusioned..I think it all sounded very normal to me. And I think everyone's expectations are different and fair to each individual. Good luck hon...
  14. Everything is full so i can't eat. I keep vomiting..I can feel everything up to my throat. Either vomit it up or until I have a bowel movement,,I can't eat. I know this is way too much info but is this normal? I had diarrhea for 5 weeks now I can't go at all. I'm so sick to my stomach today!
  15. When I'm sedentary,,I'm miserable..stomach all crunched up and I feel crampy and moody and even more tired and restless and it keeps me up all night. If my stomach is empty it feels like nausea but it's hunger..for me anyway. I would take baby steps,,a little is better than none. If you're throwing up anyway,,I would try different things. Warm soup,,cold jello...just anything. The crackers are ok but all the carbs could be adding to the nausea too. That would be a normal remedy to help nausea but the sleeve changes everything. I know your stent isn't helping matters any.

    Restless Leg?

I'm also anemic..that could be part of it.

    Restless Leg?

I've had rls for about 20 years,,due to whatever. Potassium is a good remedy but most important,,do not wait till you are exhausted to try laying down to sleep. Go to bed when you are tired,,if you wait too long, it is much worse.
  18. Would love to make it to the 250's by my birthday 2/25

  19. Are you eating anything,,if you are,,what is a typical day with food? I know I'm constantly adjusting everything because of my nausea after my leak. I'm still trying to learn how to eat. Loritab is good for pain but it would tear my stomach up. Are you walking? If you rest too much, that will make you feel like crap.

    I Can't Eat Anymore (Gross)

They called, I got scripts and all is much better so far. If I'm feeling worse tomorrow,, they want me to come in. I'm cutting back on solids and getting more liquids in so I don't get dehydrated. They want me to slow down when I'm eating and chew the heck out of my food..and it's helping with the nausea and my bowels finally moved. I think it was just a different couple of days for me and after my leak,,and tpn I'm just getting to know how things are working and how to do it. I didn't know eating would be so complicated with the sleeve..I knew I'd be eating less but it's like you have to have a schedule and routine,,timing plays a big role.

    I Can't Eat Anymore (Gross)

I think I'm just irregular and my plumbing isn't moving smooth. I notice this full feeling is lasting a few hours after I've eaten. I called doc office but no return call today..hopefully they'll call tomorrow. I'm feeling ok this evening but haven't been able to eat or drink much today at all. It just feels like I'm a full glass of water and things aren't moving through. I've mostly done liquids today in hopes it'll get things moving. Gosh we can discuss anything here, I feel. Thanks yall for listening to me with such a personal issue.

    I Can't Eat Anymore (Gross)

I've just been vomiting since last night. I stay nauseous all the time though. I'll give the doc a call..thanks!

    Fab 40's shout out

    You look amazing!
  24. I've been nauseated since I had surgery and was told the same thing,,if my nexium and zantac doesn't help for me to call the gi. Today I'm vomiting too,,smh too.lol I'm still thinking about ya and hoping all will pass and you'll feel much better real soon. I hope it will all be a bad memory and things will start looking up. Keep trying to drink,,I know it's hard to throw it up but your body will consume some of the fluids and you obviously need them really bad with all that you are going through.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....

I'm sorry, I was just trying to keep it real. Complications can happen and is something that should be considered when going into this. It's minimal risk but they do exist. The original poster brought up an excellent topic. I wish I had thought to ask that before I had surgery.
