Not Sure What Is Okay To Post
peacequeen replied to CantBelieve_IdidIit!'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This made me laugh.."Perhaps there should be 2 forums one for superior/experienced sleevers and one for people like myself called slow/nonexperienced sleevers " Don't be afraid to ask questions. Ask away!! As we all now know, guess we need to use that search option more. I've been in these forums for going on 2 years. I know when I have something on my mind or heart, I just blurt it out,,I don't really think to search for someone elses answers..if ya know what I mean but I'll try to be more mindful. Lissa, ALWAYS gives such good advice..bravo girl. I'm the type of person that likes to give pats on the back,,BUT if I see someone making a bad choice that could cause them harm,,I speak up. I try very hard to pick and choose my words to not offend or hurt anyone. -
I'm 47,,I know what you mean for sure.lol I had a problem getting calories in until I started eating small meals throughout the day..you might give that a try?
-
Some of us go through that...I know I do. I think why I may go through that and someone else doesn't is that we just have different body types. The reason it happens, I'm not sure but I suppose it could be our body takes time to adjust to the changes that are being made. I know when I eat healthy and up my calories to around 800-900 calories, I seem to do better. You're doing really great!

How Would I Know If My Sleeve Had A Leak?
peacequeen replied to itsmeloca's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It happens. I don't know the statistics at this point since so many people have had the surgery but don't go into it thinking there are no risks. Keep that in mind so if something does happen you can be prepared. Most important is if you are afraid of the risks, make sure you have a good surgeon who can deal with complications. I don't mean to scare anyone but just wanted to give an honest answer,,no candy coating from me. -
How Would I Know If My Sleeve Had A Leak?
peacequeen replied to itsmeloca's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a fever, nausea, flu like symptoms, pain in my left shoulder and center of my abdomen. I was not deathly ill or felt as though my stomach was being ripped apart but it was an obvious ill that could tell something was definitely wrong. I don't think the leak test they give right after surgery is fool proof because your stomach is so swollen. Don't EVER ignore symptoms that are out of sync with normalcy. -

Meat Is Gross Now :(
peacequeen replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same issues with some foods. I used to be able to down a big glass of milk but it tastes funny to me now. I also loved cottage cheese and certain ice creams..I'd crave them but not anymore. I'd like to enjoy the milk with a cookie on occasion but it's not the same. Some meats like sausage doesn't smell good to me anymore. -

On A Scale Of 1-10....
peacequeen replied to anewme912's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a person who has had the complications that you hear about, I would only subtract for the bad part I went through and give the surgery an 8. After healing and getting on track with the weight loss, I'd give it a 10. I do miss food and struggle with my food demons but I would've never lost this much weight EVER, without the surgery. If you think you can lose it on your own, I'd try it but ask yourself how many times have you tried that and failed or gained the weight back? Ask yourself alot of questions and really do your homework about the surgery. You are making a good start with your post,,good idea. Good luck, sweetie. -
It's my favorite source of protein. I eat it almost every day. I don't measure it, I just guesstimate my portions per ounce. Sorry I can't help much.

From 241 down to 238 this week for a 3 pound loss..I'll take that! 2 milestones..making it to the 230's and hitting a 60 pound loss. Next is 100 pound loss and getting under 200.

It's really odd, I can wear 18's now but could not the last time I was at this weight. Maybe since I'm excercising? I don't know but I'm cool with it. I was wearing 20-22's last time I was this size. Anyone else notice this with their body changing?

I wish I had known my moods would be so unstable. Some days I'm so happy and others, I feel down or negative about myself. I'm doing better than I was but still... -
