Does Anyone Have Any Regrets?
peacequeen replied to Dizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had to go to therapy. It's still a struggle for me though..I really understand where you are coming from. When was your surgery? I think we're close in dates. -
Wow, that's some really great numbers. Wish I could've done that well preop.

Anyone Have Joint Pain
peacequeen replied to AKSleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk to your surgeon about the pain in your left arm. Is it just in the joint or all over? I don't mean to scare you at all,,but a symptom of a leak can be left shoulder/arm pain. It was one of the first symptoms I had. -
Yeah, you can't use the forums unless you login with a password you made up.

I went from 238 last week to 236.4 for a 1.6 pound loss this week. I'm not excercising either (other than upper body),,resting a bummed up knee due to a bike accident. You don't realize how much you miss excercise till you can't do it. Can't wait till I hear the results of my MRI then I can move on.

Made My Goal :) And Venting Frustration...
peacequeen replied to GonnaLoseIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with alliegb3. Your mom has seen you a certain way for a period of time and now you are skinny..healthy skinny. I think it takes our loved ones as long to get used to our new bodies as it takes for us to lose the weight. Just give her time to get used to the new you. And remember she is mom,,she's going to be critical about your health and always, always give her opinion God love em..I miss mine. -
What Are Your Best Tips For Eating Slowly?
peacequeen replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no idea, I struggle too. I've tried having conversations, reading, house chores..nothing seems to work. I get that feeling of food being stuck alot. I have swallowing issues due to medical problems so for the life of me, I can't keep from drinking while eating. Eating is not a pleasant experience for me anymore, however,,I still want to overeat sometimes. -

Two Weeks Out And Need Help
peacequeen replied to sleeve523's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sleeve523, did you see a nutritionist through your process before getting the surgery? She/he should've given you a program to follow. You back slid a bit. I see a therapist that really helps me with my food addiction. We didn't get this way just by eating what we like, there is a reason we over eat. When you can't make a support group or they are too far ahead and you need help, you would have the therapist that you could call..just a suggestion. Glad you came here for help, don't know if you got the answers you were looking for but hope it shed some light. -

I meant crunches help tighten the muscles that will help lift the skin in that area. -

Love me some kegels Well, I think my coochiewa appears smaller and I don't have any camel toe's going on. My husband and I "front spoon" much easier and we fit during the sha bang bang better. OMG,,did I type all that out loud?lol Seriously, I think if you do crunches, it helps lift the muscles that support that area. -

Rheumatoid Arthritis Or Other Autoimmune Disease / Problems
peacequeen replied to Odee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have myasthenia gravis, hashimotos thyroiditis and osteoarthritis. I've had positive test results for RA but low readings so have not been officially diagnosed. I also have positive ANA so have been told it's possible I have systemic lupus. I've taken imuran and cellcept for the mg, had ivig treatments, the first 2 caused liver problems for me. Ivig caused me to have aseptic meningitis. I can't take prednisone because it caused me to fall into type II diabetes and cushing syndrome so I only take mestinon timespan. I had a set back in July this past year and had an ICU stay with plasmapheresis treatments,,which really helped and I may need them in the future if I have exacerbations. I take 200 mcg synthroid for my thyroid and celebrex (which the ins. co is giving me grief) I haven't had it for 2 weeks and I can see and feel the inflamation and the weather really brings on the symptoms. My neurologist was the the one who originally suggested my having wls. I'm glad I did,,I've noticed a difference. I was using a bipap for respiratory issues due to the mg, I'm no longer using it. My synthroid dose decreased (which flucuates so not sure it's due to weightloss), the osteo issues are better in my ankles and hips but my knees still bother me. Sorry I just rambled on..I haven't had anyone to talk to about all this,,it's unfortunate all of you have these struggles but a blessing that I found this post. I get alot of deer in headlight looks when I talk about my health issues. It would be nice to know others who suffer from the same type of issues as myself. I look forward to knowing each of you. -

I Can't Do This I Need Support
peacequeen replied to anais02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You had a bad start, make tomorrow count. Wake up with the thoughts of why you decided to do this and push forward. I agree with the rest of the posters, sounds like a drop in sugar..contact your doc and I'm sure he'll have them set up a meal plan that meets your needs. Good luck! -
My thoughts and prayers going out to you!
