Worried Plz Comment
peacequeen replied to AllSmiles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been losing since the beginning of my 3rd month (almost 6 mths out). I take biotin and I don't know if it's going to help or not but I heard good reviews about biosil so I ordered some. It doesn't make new hair but helps preserve what you have and makes it healthier. I also had 6 inches cut off my hair, the weight was pulling it down and I was forced to wear it up alot during the heat..which isn't good on your hair. I may be losing hair but I'm losing weight,,the hair will come back,,the pounds won't -
What Will Happen If I Don't Follow The 2 Week Preopp Diet?
peacequeen replied to Bigdogkc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You really want to get that liver shrunk..you can do it! They put you on a diet like that for a reason and think how disappointed you will be in yourself if you cheated....just sayin.. -
What flavors,,what are the nutrition values? I'm looking for a good protein bar,,they are hard to find. I can't stand that mediciney taste..thick and dry and hard to swallow.

That's scary! So glad you caught it..hope you are feeling better soon. A big congrats on your weightloss,,that's awesome! -
The anxiety alone put me in a whirl wind of moods. My goodness, you don't have much time left till surgery! Use this time to prepare,,make it part of the process so you can get motivated. Before you know it the big day will be here! Good luck,,I hope things look up for you soon

I think I have adult ADD because I have a hard time staying on focus when I'm eating or I've just developed a serious habit of eating too quickly over so many years. I struggled with this too. What I have done that is helping tremendously is writing. I have a journal I keep by my side and when I'm eating, I'll take a bite or 2,,write a little,,etc. It's really helped. I log events throughout the day like what I weighed, how I'm feeling, excercise, what I'm thinking,,house chores,,just whatever and it has slowed me down..finally!

I took those pre op,,I did not know that..thanks for that tip, I'll have to try it!

Biggest Loser Weigh In
peacequeen replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There's the Saturday weigh in that was started by sleeve4me..you just weigh in,,no winner..I had done this because I needed a challenge but I didn't do any better this week than any other week.lol I did see a couple on here who did fantastic and broke stalls so that was well worth it. -
I'd like to challenge anyone who wants to join in to a week weigh in to see who's the biggest loser. Since this week is almost over, we can start this Sunday the 10th and get the results on the 17th. The winner will get recognized in a seperate post with congratulatory messages. I kinda get motivated when I have a challenge so hope I win. Anyone interested? Also, sleeve4me has a super saturday weigh in post that's alot of fun too where you can keep track of your losses. I've been tracking since February!

Biggest Loser Weigh In
peacequeen replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks to everyone who played! This was alot of fun and I'm so proud of everyone for doing such a great job this week! Unfortunately, I didn't think the whole thing through when I planned this so I won't be doing it anymore. If someone would like to take over,,I'm sure there's an easier way to organize it and keep track better. -
Biggest Loser Weigh In
peacequeen replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good idea but the participants keep changing and at different times. I think I bit off more than I can chew. I probably won't do the challenge anymore unless someone who can keep up with it would like to take over. -
Biggest Loser Weigh In
peacequeen replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok,,for future reference, I need everyone to put their weight and how much they lost for the week. If you don't ,,I will have to weed through the forum and find your old weight compared to the new weight and do the math. Which isn't a big deal if it's just a few people but there are quite a few players. -
Biggest Loser Weigh In
peacequeen replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Try to keep your eye on the prize and that will help you through the pre op diet. It's a tough journey but nothing good comes without patience and work. You can do it! Keep focused and remember your reason for doing it and that will help you pull through the tough spots. Good luck and keep us posted! -
So Excited Things Are Moving Along-:)
peacequeen replied to CandiKiss's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It certainly sounds like things are moving in the right direction for you. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing you around the forums -
I only told family at first. After I had the surgery and lost 60 pounds,,I posted on facebook for everyone..not one negative comment. I think people compare wls to cosmetic surgery,,some easy way out to look good. It's so far from the truth, it's hard work,,I think it's been harder because it's forcing me to change and when you've been a certain way for 47 years,,it's not easy changing. I think people who are overweight that give negative opinions about wls aren't really jealous but maybe wish they had thought of it first and are too proud to admit it. Our loved ones and friends just worry when they hear surgery,,I know if my daughter came to me and said she had to have surgery (whatever type) I would be worried and want her to get a second opinion so sometimes negative comments are just some peoples way of saying,,I love and care about you,,I really hate to see you go through all of this..and because they think we can do it without surgery because they are skinny and have no clue what we are going through. Try to always keep this in mind when you tell someone and they don't respond the way you want them to. Even thank them for caring..I even told some that I would consider what they had to say and appreciate their opinion,,but I did what I wanted anyway.lol It hasn't been an easy road either,,it was difficult to tell those people I ended up with a leak then I felt like I had to convince them and myself that I did the right thing. It's like others have said, you will have to fight a good battle and show the proof to get the respect that wls deserves. Sorry I rambled on.
