    Couch Potato to 5K

I just did my first day of Couch to 5K. I too downloaded an app for my iTouch. I was going to use a podcast I found, but decided I'd fork out the 3 bucks and use my own music instead. It got tough towards the end, but I ran/jogged every 60 second bit. Wednesday off, but maybe I'll fit in some yoga after my exams. Assuming I survive my exams...eek!
  6. Day one of Couch to 5K complete. Man, that got tough at the end.

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

I think I need to start taking an acid reflux thing again. I've been getting an upset stomach lately, after I eat. And no spicy food for a while. SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Bugwitch........293...............240.4...............225........15.4 Looks like I won't be making that 225 goal. Right now I'm just struggling to get passed the 240 point. Almost there!!!

    Slowing Down...

You know...there are just some foods it's so hard to slow down eating. It's just so yummy. Like right now, for instance...I have some fresh, home-popped popcorn. It's so fraking yummy! I know I'm supposed to take smaller bites and slow down, but it's just a weird food that it seems not possible! Yes, I know I can, and do sometimes. But...what is it about popcorn that makes it mmm mmm good? Thai food is another...especially if it's spicy. Spicy food is just a little harder to eat slowly. Well, there I go...starting to feel full. Gonna toss out the rest of the popcorn into my compost bucket. Just wanted to share that little random thought over a bowl of popcorn.
  11. Well...the world didn't end. Guess I should pay those bills...damnit.

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

I'm gonna start up Slim in 6 again tomorrow. 6 weeks from Monday will put me smack on 4th of July. Does anyone else out there do this or another Beachbody routine? Who wants to join me on this little fitness goal? It doesn't have to be Slim in 6...Just make your commitment and post here! Let's keep each other motivated!
  15. I was sleeved back on Monday and am on clear fluids for another something days and I've been adding in my Protein supplements. I opened my "unflavored" unjury yesterday and tried that...it's okay and all. So, here's my question: What makes a protein supplement okay to be used for clear fluids? I've scanned through older threads on similar topics and find that basically, "if I can still see through it, it is okay" as the consensus, but not "chocolate". Why? What about other protein supplements? I had stocked up on a variety of sample packs of powders and now I'm paranoid to open any of them in case I can't use them! I did open one and when I saw it looked just like the Unjury one, I decided to give it a go and it is yummy! (Jay Rob whey Protein Pina Colada). I do have two chocolate ones, but what makes them not okay to be used for clear fluids? What about my Pomegranate cranberry? Or the Blueberry? What about the two gluten free ones I thought I'd give a go? Anyway, I was just hoping someone here would actually "know".
  16. I bellydance and since I am grad student, my funds are not on the high side of things. I have often used large skirts as fabric, either to make dance skirts out of, or some other use. Do any of you have something that might fit the bill? I like things with embroidery and/or have a sort of Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern feel...if that makes sense.

    Any cloths from 2x down

I have two pairs of jeans which might fit you. I can go through my shirts and see what I have that are really too big. If you haven't thought of it yet...the Goodwill is a wonderful place full of wonderfully cheap clothes!

    Considering Surgery

Search the forums for different key words. Especially, look up the names of the doctors who you are considering. Compare their track records and abilities (and after care programs!). Who stacks up and who doesn't? Don't be afraid to ask us (and your doctors) questions.
  20. I had my VSG surgery on 21 March with Dr. Alberto Aceves. Though it's been tough it has definitely been a journey worth taking. I know it's only been a month and a half, but I just had a moment of success this morning that I just had to share. Well, actually, I had two! I've lost and gained weight many times over the years; as have most of us here on the forums I imagine. But, it has been almost 8 years since I have been able to break the 250 barrier. It's been one of those things that I just couldn't get passed. I think I weighed around 250 in high school and, frankly, most of my life. In 2003/4 I did the Atkins diet and had some great success. But after I had to have my gall bladder taken out, it was really difficult to keep it up. All that Protein just didn't sit well. I slowly crept back up over the next six months, but was able to keep it around 250 without going too much higher. But by the end of 2006, I was over 300. I reached my highest weight of almost 320lbs. After a moment of realization I affirmed I would lose that weight. Fighting over the next couple of years I was able to get to 252. I was stuck there. It just wouldn't go down! Until today. This morning I decided to hop on the scale and I saw a number I never thought I'd see...249.4. I couldn't believe it! OMG!!! I broke the 250 barrier!!! So I had to do it again. But this time, the number was different. So I got on it again to check...same number as the second time. Wait...try again...same number as the previous two goes. So, as of today, I now weigh 248.8lbs!!!!!! HUGE smile on my face. Next little moment came about 15 minutes later while getting dressed. I've been wearing my same clothes because I just don't want to be buying up clothes...I'm cheap. But, I still have some of my clothes from when I was thinner and then a few which I purchased as motivation to lose a little more. Well, those motivation pants were still too small, but the older thin jeans fit just perfect! I started to cry. IMMD Just had to share.

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

I couldn't resist. I had to get on the scale today. And to my surprise....I saw a most welcomed yet unexpected number. 248.8 SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Bugwitch........293...............248.8............225........23.8 So, what did I do to celebrate? I bought myself something that I have been oogling for quite a while. To top it all off...it's about 50% cheaper than when I normally see them. They are quite rare. Man, I love Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=280632242873&si=NBC9okOrUP9XzyFWg3%252B7hxRajYg%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
