Today is post op day # 28, and I did GOOD! Had lots of water, tuna salad, protein shake, and some YUMMY taco lettuce roll ups. The only problem is that my ankles are swollen. I fell off the wagon a few days ago and had my fair share of baked lays for 3 days in a row. Lesson learned. But I WON today, so take that Food Demons!!

i too am 3 week post op, the first 2 weeks i was scared to death and followed the diet to the T, but the better I feel the more I want some food. I am trying to follow the mushy food diet, i have found that chilli in the food processor keeps me full, not sure if I am even supposed to be eating that, but sometimes things just dont taste as good after they have been beat up in the food processor. So between the 8oz of chilli and my 8oz protein shakes I am a happy girl. I have snuck a few bites of salty crunchy goodness, it will always be a fight until the day i leave this Earth. My highest weigth was 281 and at the last doctors appt I was 245, so I cant complain, but I am looking forward to Feb 2 so I can get my first fill and really see how this band works. Good luck to us all WE deserve it!!!! -

First of all congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I too was on a 2 week pre op liquid onyl diet. I am a patient of Dr rehnke in St Pete. His diet was Optifast (protein) shakes 3-5 per day plus ANYTHING liquid/sugarfree/diet. Keep in mind the bigger picture. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress -

great job! i am 3 weeks out and the weight loss has come to a stand still. I go back to the doc in 2 weeks and hopefully i will get a fill. I am just being careful and trying to follow the docs diet the best i can. I tried on some old clothes last night still didnt feel comfortable wearing them but i could tell a difference. BEst of luck and keep up the good work! -
 Post op day # 20. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I was banded! 3 weeks!! omg i cant believe that it has been that long. Yesterday was hard, was VERY tired, so i doubled up my vitamans and so far so good. One more week of a "full liquid" diet and then I can eat "normal" food for a week until I see my surgeon again. I already know that I will need a fill and hope that I will get one Feb 3. I havent lost or gained anything in a week, so i guess i cant complain. I have been drinking more water, if my tummy growls I drink and if it still growls, then I will eat. today I had a sugar free pudding and then came home and put some chilli in the food processor, not sure if i am suppose to be eating that, but it kept me full last night.

Day # 18 post op doing ok, struggling a bit, I can only have 8 oz when i am hungry, but there are only so many "Full liquids" I can take. I gotta keep in mind the big picture.

Post Op 11 Months and I am Still Failing..
AmyH33 commented on StacyMainePink's blog entry in StacyMainePink's Blog
I mean this with all my heart, i hope that you find your way to your happy place. I know money might be tight and not having insurance is just another stresser in your life but have you ever thought of counseling? You have proven that you have the want and the will power to loose 60 ON YOUR OWN which in itself is AMAZING! Were you given a post op diet? if so try following that again, portion control, etc. I know you have heard it all and believe me if it were that easy no one would be overweight. Have you thought about loosing another 300+ lbs by getting rid of your boyfriend? lol I tell people step back and look at your life, what is causing you stress and what can you get rid it. You need to take care of YOU first!! I hope that everything turns out for you, I wish you the best of luck. -
hang in there it will get easier. I was banded 12/30 and like you was not hungry or thirsty for like 4 days after surgery. Make sure you do "eat' and drink to keep up your strength and to help with healing. Did your doctor not give you a diet to follow? mine is as follows: post op weeks 1-2 clear liquids only, broth, fruit juice no pulp watered down,sf italian ice, tea w/ sugar sub, crystal light, coffee no cream sug sub, sugarfree jello, sugar free popscicles, G2 gatorade, water, water, water. The items with calories were my meals, sugar free gum and sugar free hard candy. Weeks 3-4 full liquids, milk, thin yogurt, sugar free sorbet/frozen yogurt, creamy soups (i put them in a food processor) sugar free pudding, protein shakes, vegatable juice, hot ceral like oatmeal/grtis but thinned out. I can have at each meal 8 oz., eat only when hungry, drink some water and see if you are truly hungry. After week 4 is a soft diet boiled chicken, cottage cheese, flakey baked fish, egg salad, eggs, soft cheese, ground turkey, tuna salad, deli meats (sliced), asparagus tips, brocolli tops, NO RICE, PASTA, or CELERY. you will learn the hard way what you can and cant eat and how much you can and cant eat. Its a learning process. I hope this helped, focus on why u did this, you did this for YOU, so take care of you and best wishes!

are you only liquids only? or are you still eating some solids? i too was on a 2 week pre op liquid only diet, anything sugar free and liquid i could have. It did work for me and it can work for you. We work way too hard to get where we are and you CAN do this!! Good luck
