    Beginner questions

What was the point of having to loose weight to do the surgery? I'm a little confused about this - if you don't mind, which state are you in? Thanks, Jaleena

Just got the date for the seminar I have to attend before I can proceed. I'm looking forward to hearing all the information as I hope it will answer my questions. I've added the ticker - feel like it's another step to becoming a healthier person. God bless, Jaleena

    Needing Support

Hi Wondering... I have my initial consultation on 1/13/11 and I understand how you feel. I hope that we will be able to keep in touch throughout our journey. I have only told my immediate family as I too worry about what people will say. My close friend has voiced an opinion several times that it's too extreme and badly affects you for the rest of your life. I agree with bubbles772 and say that she is simply not informed. No one knows unless they have been in our shoes what failure feels like. I told my primary physician today that the only thing holding me back was the guilt that I failed at being able to loose the weight "the right way". His answer says it all -" in this world we will fail without Christ in anything we do................and to not let guilt overcloud this desicion - this is a decision to get healthy." I agree with him, so I scheduled the appointment and go for the seminar on the 13th. Would love to hear how your visit goes!! God bless, Quilter at Heart

Blessings to you for a speedy recovery. I was told ny my dr the other day that this procedure might be the quickest solution to medical problems that are occurring because of my weight. I'm a month shy of 50 and weigh 291 pounds. Your post is very encouraging - maybe there is hope for me! God bless Jaleena in NC

    Surgery tomorrow!

Very excited for you - I'm hoping to get an appointment date with the doctor next week. What did your liquid diet consist of? Was it just regular food blended or protein powders and such? I wish you a speedy recovery! Jaleena from NC

Thank you for the welcome - how is the liquid diet going? What kind of liquids are you drinking? I'm so curious!
