hello all!..... I;ve been banded since May of 2002....only ONE fill!!.....went for a second fill dec 15th...by the time I got back to the parking lot I could not walk!!....I guess when I got my fill of 1cc it broke the band!!...I found myself in surgery to fix the tubing that goes to the port!!....wow!..17,000 bucks later!!....where do I start to get the maker of the band to pay for the repair...anyone know???.....thanks!...:help: Cindy.

mizboo....look at my other post for your question about "trouble".... the band for me has been a great "gate keeper"....I was banded at 210 and currently weigh 175....I have not worked at it!!...as I'm scared to throw-up!!!...but now, 5 yrs later, I want this to work!!...I'm now getting tiny fills every month or so!!....I want this extra 50 lbs off!!...I love my band!!...it keeps me in check!!.....hope this helps a little!!...feel free to private message me anytime!!...

oh YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....I know that pain ohhhhh soooo well!!!!....ouchy!!....I'ma 5 yr bandster!!...still got the pain in my neck (left side only)....dont think that will ever go away!..:rolleyes

you may be over eating!!...the left side of my neck hurts when I over eat!..try to stick to a cup of food per meal.....or it just might be hitting/sitting on a nerve!...ouchy!!...talk to your doc about that!

dont get discouraged!!...the band is a great tool for all!...but its just that.."a tool".....you still have to make it work!!......if its meant to be it will be!!....hang in there friend!!

I know how to eat "around" the band...things that go down...oh so good!!!...watch your coloric in take!!....and don't out smart the band!!LOL!!

thanks guys!....there really isn't any more details, I will tell you this, the doc that banded me has done hundreds!!...I was his #10 5yrs ago, he did tell me that this has happened 1 other time!....so, its rare but can happen!....it was the worse pain I have ever had in my life!....every breath, every step I took I felt as though I just wanted to die!!!...I could not get away from the pain!!...I do have blue cross/blue shield ins, they are paying for it, however, I have a 300 dollar deductable and owe 10% of the bill!....which I can deal with....but why?,,,,I feel the maker of the band should be held liable?....do you?......maybe, I'm over reacting?.. cindy.
