Eharmony SUCKS! Class action lawsuit underway!

Dear Green, Thanks for clueing me in to the map - I love it. Yes, after that last election I had one foot out of this country, but I'm glad I stayed. There's too much natural beauty here to just give away to the "christian" fundamentalists. And speaking of which, my one problem with the Jesusland map is they get the Rocky Mountains. Too much beauty! They won't appreciate it as much as us sinners will, with our pagan, Earth-worshiping (conservationist) tendencies. I vote they only get the deep south and parts of the Midwest, and let them have Texas, of course, but I think Austin will secede to our side. Okay, as for E-Harmony, I have to say I am not against straight people congregating in a no gay zone, as long as they do it nonviolently. Personally, it looks like a site way too, well, straight for my artistic, beautiful gay friends. I don't think a lawsuit is the way to go. Why perpetuate more negativity in this world? It's like - why would a guy want to work at Hooters, a place that subjectifies women? Why not instead work at a restaurant with better food and better treatment of their staff? So same issue, why would a gay person want to enter an unworthy institution like eHarmony? ...But I respect the fight.

Eharmony SUCKS! Class action lawsuit underway!

Lets divide the country into regions - homophobes, confederate flag flyers and war lovers on one side, the rest of us on the other. One can dream, no? But I guess for now I'm gonna have to see the good in my neighbor. That's the age old challenge, right?

    having fill next Thursday

I'm in almost the same exact situation as you. I had the band in on December 15th and am getting a fill Wednesday January 24th. I've lost about 20lbs, mostly in the week before and the week after. I cannot wait (though I am anxious about the restriction) for the band to really work. It is exciting and scary and wonderful. Let me know how you do and I'll let you know how I do.

This forum and its separations are so strange. There are enough cliques and exclusions in real life without finding more on a "support" forum. I for one am so done with this website. When I graduated from high school, I finished with mean girls. I wish you all the best.

I've been thinking about why so many people are fat now when they weren't hundreds of years ago. Besides the obvious lack of movement due to technological innovations, I realize that food is not supposed to taste this way, this good. McDonalds is so amazingly delicious though we all know it is some sick crap. Chemicals! They have created stuff in the laboratory that is like a drug (maybe its even actually addictive - I wouldn't put it past big business) but think of people thousands of years ago. They ate to live, not because they were obsessed with the taste of food. Even in times of Greek binging, it was about the show of excess, the way rappers pour champagne on the floor nowadays. Nathalie, I like what you're saying. If we eat less processed foods, we are less likely to overeat. How many apples are we going to desperately binge on? Not many. Today, I am going to write down every single thing I put in my mouth. If I know I have to write it down, I'm less likely to eat what I shouldn't. It is so hard, but think of what other people in other parts of the world are having to deal with today, and I know we are so lucky to have too much food. It's a blessing and I know we'll overcome our problems with overeating.

For our list, my band date was December 15th in Dade City, Florida. My weight that day was 254. Also, for the record, my name is Lisa (Jonathon and Jeremy are my sons, hence JonandJem). I'm really glad to be here, talking to all of you. It's hard not being in from day one as some of you have built strong relationships already, but better late than never. Good luck today everyone!

Denise, Even when the weightloss slows, we just have to think positive. I look at the before and after pictures on this site, so real, unlike the glossy promotional lapband ads, and I am thankful I've chosen this course. I remember when I was beautiful, when I looked outside how I feel inside. We'll get back there. You're in the Pacific Northwest. I envy you. I went to college in Olympia, WA. If I were you, I would go for a hike in the misty mountains to keep my mind off of food. I don't worry about losing my hair because I'd rather have a little less of that and a healthier body, but I'm sure there are ways to avert hairloss. Good luck to you!

StephC - Congratulations on your fill. Let us know how it goes, if it hurts and if you feel fuller afterwards. Pizza sounds awesome. So does french fries, but I never want to be fat again. Maybe when I'm very old, I'll have this band removed and eat everything all the time. Until then, I do love Cream of Wheat, thank goodness.

BKWalling - Your husband looks very cute in your picture. I'm glad he's nice too. My weight loss is stagnating but I know I need to drink more water and write every single thing I eat down. Bad habits are hard to break. I want to lose 45 lbs by July (I have an event to go to) but I know this is so worth it. Can't wait for the fill though...

Dear BKwalling, I have two boys, two and four, so I am usually a tastetester too. It would be so much easier if I didn't have to cook for my family. Thank God my husband is so good and kind. My four year old definitely noticed the four weeks I went without food. He kept bringing me little snacks and asked me where my plate was at dinner time. Now every day he looks at my scars to see how their healing and he's extra gentle. Thanks for your reply! I cant wait to lose more weight with you.

Hi - I got the lapband on December 15th from Dr. Grossbard in Florida...$17500.00 financed out of pocket with a high interest rate...so I have to make this work because otherwise I'm a stupid fool. Thank you for the great forum. I'm not usually into chat type sites, but I'm very glad I found this. I started out at 267 and now I'm 246 so I'm happy with the weightloss but like everyone else, I'm getting hungry and the holidays have made things harder as far as temptation. I'm looking forward to a fill and I am very excited and optimistic.
