    Surgery 3/30/11 So nervous!

Honestly in my opinion it's a breeze and probably one of the easiest I've ever experienced. I too was extremely nervous and almost walked out of the pre-op room if it wasn't for the terrific nurse I had. The liquid and mushy food stage were easy also. If you stick to what the doctor tells you, make sure you get your Protein in it should go well. I was back at work after just two days with no problems. good luck I'm sure it will go well for you!
  2. got the answer thanks
  3. doing well my first fill is on 3/29 slowly losing and working out a ton,, hang in there it'll keep going down down down.

    Greek Yogurt

I haven't read all the post on this thread so sorry if this has been stated already. I've grown to really like the chobani plain I flavor it for whatever my taste are. I use a little spleda sweeten to taste, then I had whatever crystal light flavor I'm in the mood for, becareful not add too much. I've also added some no carb fruit spreads and honestly I prefer this now over the premixed yogurts.. Who would've thought...

  6. Went to the doctor on Wed. for my two week post op, I was down 24lbs feeling great. Doc. says my scars are healing remarkably well and to move onto mushy stage. I'm down another 2lbs since Wed. can't wait to start on regular food. Time to do some golfing and skiing!!!!!!!!!

    Why are men so stupid?

personally I much prefer a little meat on the bones I've never been a fan of skinny women even when I was in rockin shape and not looking to bad myself. By the way you look pretty darn good in that profile pic.
  8. I was called on a Wed. by the doctors and told I was scheduled for surgery the next Wed. and to start liquid stage 1 diet. I ate what I wanted and drank that night, I did two days of liquid diet Thurs and Friday then on Saturday night had a very nice dinner and partied at the Dan Band concert with a nice Breakfast burrito the next morning. Back on the diet Monday Tuesday and all was fine for surgery on WEd.
  9. This is my first post and hopefully not the last! I just found out yesterday 2/9 I've been approved and scheduled for 2/16 wow! I've been anywhere from 20lbs to 110 lbs over weight for the past 23 years, 50-110lbs over weight the past 15 years and it's created back problems on and off for a long long time. I've tried everything possible to lose the weight, I was successful yet repeatedly failed to maintain the weight loss. I just feel that the lapband is such a severe step and why do I need to take such a drastic step for weightloss? However, one of my major motivations is to not allow myself to end up like my mother who's been over weight the past 40 years and is now experiencing physical problems with her knees, feet and hip. I would also like to add that I have two young children who are very athletic and my goal is to be very active with them. With my current weight of 292 (5'8") it's extremely difficult to keep up. I was extremely active my entire life, I played college football and baseball I skied for 20 years, I used to jog 5 miles a day, but right now I can barely walk around the block without back spasms, very depressing. I hope this works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sex after lap band???

Not a problem at all we started back up 3 days after surgery and it's been good since
  14. You'll do fine was a major wreck second guessing my decision all the way to admission but I had an amazing nurse. I'm only a week out but I was back at work after only one day off and I've been very active since doing yard work running baseball practice walking etc.... Good luck it'll go smooth!
  15. I've bought the sugar free kellog pudding, the carton says 6 grams carbs mixed with skim milk. Do I need to add the mild carbs calories etc.. into the equation? Just trying to keep an accurate count of calories and carbs thanks
  16. yes definitely ok it's really how you feel. I was walking the stairs in my house multiple times per day and even at work which are very long. I also walked 3x a day probably 1/4 to 1/2 mile per each time. This doesn't count the additional walking around the city, mall etc.....

    1 week banded

Congrats on the band I was banded on Wed 2/16 and feeling pretty darn good, I've walked everyday except when the rain got in the way. Of course I'm sore but bearable. I actually have taken the pain meds at night it's helped me sleep great. I'm hoping the soreness goes away soon I've got an important golf tourney coming up in a short time.... I played catch with my son today I was sore throwing but i was very very careful.....
  21. I'm supposed to be drinking 1oz per 15 mins which means 4oz in an hour why the heck should I take 5 hours to finish one 20oz ISOPURE I'm drinking it in more like one to two hours. Is this ok? FYI I'm two days post op

    Protein drink quantity

thanks I take fairly small sips and never had much of a problem. I'm still waiting for this darn gas to leave a little left today but I'd love for the rest to disappear. I've walked like crazy so i've never really experienced any of the uncomfortable pain others described.
  23. I didn't change anything for my Saturday night I had my beers and a decent dinner then back on to the diet a day and half before my surgery and all went well.
  24. Bruinfan

    Protein drink quantity

Thanks I started my 20oz protein drink around 6:50 am I'll be done around 9:20 am..
  25. Oh man am I seriously questioning this decision. If you saw me you'd think I needed to lose about 20lbs. I'm very stocky but I weight 290 and should be about 180-190. No one in my family other then my mother is over weight. I've been up and down for the past 14 years. I have demons in my head that keep telling me I can do this on my own.. Man I hope I make it through tomorrow without canceling.
