  1. Ok I stopped losing weight so my doctor tightened my band 5cc. It was way too tight and I couldn't even keep liquids down so after a week (when i lost 10lb) he took out 3cc. Then I started losing at a good pace but I am still throwing up all the time. I mean all the time! I have been throwing up so long I don't even try to eat diet food because nothing stays down so I try to be happy with whatever food goes down well. Unfortunately some of the things that go down the best are cold and sweet or junk food with lots of fats. I have tried to stay on straight protein like I am supposed to but meat almost never goes down well. Any kind of meat! It doesn't matter what kind it is. It has to have lots of fat to make it soft enough to stay down. ......Anyhow, when I went in for my next checkup I told the doctor that I still was throwing up all the time and he unfilled my band back to where it was when I wasn't losing weight. Surprise, surprise I have stopped losing weight and even increased 5lb's. I'm worried it will keep increasing and that even worse once I'm done losing I will be used to eating things that will just shoot it back up again....Any guidance would be helpful. What is everyone eating daily? and how much? I never know how much I really keep down because I vomit so much.
  2. That might be a problem. I've never heard that before but the smallest bite is probably at least double bean sized.
  3. Ok, I was banded in Dec 2009 and for the last 10 months my blood pressure and heart rate have been on the low side of normal. Then my last two check ups late November and late October both values have been high (still normal range but high for me). Also, my resting heart rate which was 60bpm just after the surgery is now 77 even though I have increased my cardio workout and have lost 60 lb's. My values are still normal but I have no idea why they would be increasing? Anyone have any thoughts?

    Need Help and Support

You have to remember that the lap band is just a tool. Like diet and exercise, none of it works alone. I would say maybe you do need a fill actually because I am losing weight right now and if I have more than a few bites of anything I will throw it up. If you're eating slow and steady throughout the day maybe you need new activities or more exercise to get your mind off the food.
  5. I'm not sure if this will help you but I got the lap band surgery December of 2009 and it is the best decision I have ever made. I chose it over the other types of surgeries because this one is adjustable and after you lose the weight you wont worry about regaining it because when you start you can get the band tightened back up. I also chose this surgery because I generally eat too much not just eating the wrong food. So far I have lost 60lbs and am continuing to lose weight.
