Banded yesterday 2/16!!
ShrnkN2 replied to ThisMumRocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all! yaaaay for uus! i was also banded on 2/16. My main issue is the chest pain and when i breath in it HURTS! i have lot of neck pain, which i know is gas. But man, taking deep breaths is not easy! My stomach is healing very well. i took all the bandages off yesterday. I too am feeling starving, but my doctor has me on strictly liquids. I'm drinkin isopure, which is a protein whey drink, apple juice, lots and lots of chicken broth, and sugar free pop sickles. i wish this chest and neck pain would go away! I love the fact that we have eachother. no matter the issue i feel theres always someone who is or was in your shoes. I can't wait to hear about all of your success stories. we will do great! my best friend told me the other day... "just make sure you don't lose yourself" i guess going from being morbidly obese to one hot mama... haha you know what i mean much love! -
Chest pains after surgery?
ShrnkN2 replied to PSJ71's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 days post op, and boy does it hurt to breath in!! i don't have ne shoulder pain but i do however have horrible neck pain. i use the breathing thing they give you after surgery, but it hurts. I don't know if this is normal. I don't think it's gas pain. -
I weighed myself and it said 280.. is that possible. I was just 293 last week. No complaints here!!!

My doctor said i can eat grits... farina, plain oatmeal, cream of wheat and fat free/ sugar free puddings. makke sure the oatmeals are watered down. good luck to you and congratulations on your success!

I know the doctor warned me about all the gas that would be getting stuck in my body.. but man i didn't expect it to be this bad. I'm 2 days post op, and i continuously feel a burp coming up then it just stops and gets stuck in my chest. anyone have advice to help me out?
-
sleeping seems to be virtually impossible. no matter what i do i just can't get comfortable enough.. all this damn gas stuck in my chest! anyone have advice on things that help you sleep?
-
Well everything went smooth! They found a hernia whild they were doing surgery and removed it. I have the worst chest and neck pain.. did anyone else have that?
-
yeah ive been walking around as much as possible. I fee lso sleepy still from the anesthesia. I return to work on sat which i am a little nervous about. but my pain level is prob at lie a 3 out of 10. i am just very uncomfortable.
-
well all they gave me was pain killers and meds for nausea. and they recommend you to walk as much as possible. that will relieve some of the gas pain. You have to make sure the blood keeps flowing.
-
yea that's what the doctor said . he said nothing about my chest hurting though. they found a hernia while in surgery and removed it, so that's the only thing i can imagine making my chest hurt. i do however feel so much better though than i did yesterday. I'm not hungry art all, the fluids are doin my justice! ive experience a little but i nausea but that is expected.

I've never been more ashamed then when I took and saw my before pictures.. I wonder to myself how I got this way. Soon this battle will be over. Soon I will be in love with not only the way I look, but the way I feel. This next year, I WILL SHOW MY TRUE COLORS, and I will do it all the right way.

I am pre op as well.. and I've been on the nutritionist diet for about a month. My surgery is next month. The hardest thing is... not having caffeine!!!! Caffeine headaches are the absolute worst! Only the first couple days were bad though. I started taking multi vitamins and a protein shake with skim milk plus in the morning. That helps me out a lot, energy wise. It also satisfies my hungry for about 3 hours as well. The beginning is always the most, but think about what it will give us in the end... LIFE all over again! Good luck to you! You will do wonderful! And we are all here for support! <3

my doctor didnt really tell me i had to diet before hand, but suggested I do. I am pretty much doing what u said. It's been a week since the new diet, I'm pretty used to it. Protein shakes in the am replace my coffee that's def the hardest thing to get used to. No coffee haha
