I am a mother of three grown kids, 2 boys and a girl. I have been married for 29 years to a wonderful man named Jesse and we have one grand baby named Aden aged 3.

I was never what you might call skinny. I was athletic and looked very firm and healthy in my younger days. I have been over weight for over 25 years now and opted to have the Vertical Sleeve in an effort to prevent diabetes and heart problems which run in my family. My husband has never been a person who likes skinny girls and was a little apprehensive when I approached him about this weight loss solution. I had to promise I was not going to end up looking too skinny for him. lol

We enjoy fishing and just hanging out doing things out doors. Going to the beach or to an amusement park or just out to see the wild life is something we have always enjoyed but I have noticed that as I got heavier, it got harder to do these things without getting exhausted. I am looking forward to feeling some of the liberating feelings I have heard expressed on this forum.

I chose to go with Dr. Cavazos @ Norteast Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio Texas. I am very pleased with the staff and with the Dr and their bedside manner.

I had the surgery on the 25th of April 2011 and can't wait to see the weight come off.
