  1. I was banded on 12/15. At first, I felt no hunger. I'm sure this was because of swelling. Somewhere around day 4-5 I got my appetite back, but after eating a small amount I was full. Now, I feel like a bottomless pit! I'm trying to stick to my drs plan, but I'm always hungry! I can not wait for my first fill and I'm hoping it will make a difference. Any tips to get through this "bandster hell"?

    It's official... I'm starving!!

I'm getting my first fill on Jan 6th. I can't wait! You're absolutely right, if I had will power I'd be thin and healthy without a band! I hope I get some restriction with my fill, but at the same time I'm trying not to bank on it. It seems like it takes some people a very long time to find thier sweet spot!
  3. I don't think I know how to shop for thin person clothes. I'm 32 years old and a mom of 2. Where will I shop when I don't need to go to the "fat chick" stores anymore? I'm excited to get there, but nervous at the same time. Am I crazy??

    What have you lost...

I've lost a bald eagle and I've got the world's largest ball of tape to go! Lol!

    This journey has me thinking...

I like the thrift store idea, especially in the losing weight phase! It will be interesting to figure out how to dress again! Good luck all and happy losing!

    This journey has me thinking...

I'm having trouble at Lane Bryant too. Im short in my waist area and all of the pants from there come almost to my boobs! I know it sounds dumb, but I can't wait to go to stupid Abercrombie and Fitch and buy a pair of jeans. I've wanted to wear them since junior high! Lol!

    This journey has me thinking...

That is true! I feel like I don't even know what my style is or what I'd like to wear. I've been so limited for so long, the only stores near me that sell plus size clothing are Lane Bryant and Fashoin Bug Plus. It's like if you are plus sized you must like only these styles! I do have to say that plus sized clothing has come a long way in recent years, but there's still not much selection.

    Post op Pain

This will feel like nothing for you. I thought it would feel much like a C section as well, but I couldn't have been more wrong! It's so much easier!

    whats your favorite mushie food?

I just put whatever I'm making for my family in the food processor and eat with them. It made me feel a little more "normal". Most foods don't look super appetizing after they come out of the food processor, but they taste delish!

    Banded today!!!

    Congrats to you both!
  12. I used to always sleep on my belly, but since I've been banded 12/15/10, I'm trying to sleep on my side. My incisions look and feel good. How long should I wait before sleeping on my belly?

    pain in port incision

My dr said it could be tender in the port area for a few weeks!
  14. My port is in the middle too. I felt some restriction for the first 5-6 days, then I think the swelling went down and I was starving all the time! I'm going in for my first fill on Jan 6th, so hopefully that will help. For now, I'm still eating mushies, but it has been hell with all the holiday desserts around. My mouth just waters thinking about them! I can't wait to get some restriction!

    Lap band removed! :(

I hope you have a speedy recovery! WW is a wonderful program. I have always loved the program and I'm actually following the points plus program now. I can't eat as many points as they allow, but I track my food and excersize on the website. It's incredibly user friendly. You've set your mind to it and that is the first part of success! Good luck with your modified journey. You can do this!

    I'm Stoked!

I did it too! I walked 1 mile today in under 25 mins! I was so happy that I did it! :-) great job btw!
  17. I took a pill at 2 days post op and had that same feeling. It was after office hours, so I called my pharmacy and the pharmacist said to sip hot water as hot as I could stand to melt the capsule. He also said that during the first week or so, the swelling from surgery could cause this issue. My Gp prescribed a liquid for me to use during that time. Now, 11 days out I'm fine and have no trouble swallowing pills.
  18. Yay! I can't wait to be there! Congrats! I am so excited to read about others success! It makes me feel like I can do this too!

    band fills

I am going to the dr and possibly having my first fill at 4 weeks post op. My surgeon recommends 24 hours of liquids and then 24 hours of soft foods and then back to solids after a fill. I can't tell you how it feels, but I will post about it after my appt on Jan 6th!

    Swimming?

My dr said to wait 4 weeks before soaking my incisions. Enjoy your vacation!

    Post-op Condition

I am 10 days post op and am feeling pretty much back to normal, with the exception of this flu I'm trying to kick! By day 6-7 I was feeling like my old self. Walking around the house really helped to get rid of the gas pains!

    GUARNTEED weight loss.

I got the flu too! It has been terrible, but I've still been hungry. I have had to feed my family though, maybe that's part of it and I also have not had a fill yet. I'm usually a chronic weigher (like 4-5 times a day) but I haven't been on the scale for 2 days!
  23. I'm 10 days post op and have stayed on track as well. I was moved to mushy foods on my 1 week post op and the dr said to eat whatever I was cooking for my family, just stick it in the food processor. So, we had ham, mashed potatoes and veggies. I processed the ham with a very tiny bit of gravy and then did the veggies seperately. I have to say, it is nice to be able to eat "normal" foods. It looks nasty, but tastes and feels like real food lol! Obviously every dr is different, but that's my experience. Good luck!

    I'm Stoked!

Wow Erin! Your motivation has motivated me! Thanks for posting! I was banded on 12/15 and since then my whole family (myself included) has come down with the flu. I haven't done much of anything, but tomorrow my butt will be on that treadmill too! Thanks again and happy holidays!
