Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

its been ages since i've been on. i was quite fed up really. I went through a clinic called cosmedico to have the surgery. basically its like an agent that puts you in touch with CDB instead of going directly which i should have done. Had surgery in early Jan had a fill in feb and then cosmedico couldn't organise a fill for me. i was in for one then they cancelled it and then they scheduled one for a few weeks later telling me that the all the earlier time slots were taken. anyway got the fill about 2 weeks ago went from 3 mls to 5 and wow what a difference! it has i could only drink liquids for 2 weeks now it has loosened a bit and fred said one more fill should do it for me. strange thing is when i went to get the fill in cosmedico they told me they are no longer running the clinic that its now going to be run in the city centre where i think their main clinic is, and i can't even make appts via cosmedico just direct with fred, so i am suspicious the Dr chris is severing his ties with the clinic which wouldn't suprise me. anyway had my fill which is working now and even happier not to have to deal with my useless agent. Anyone who is thinking of having the surgery..its much easier to go direct to Dr Chris..skip the agent/clinic cos you only end up paying more. €3000 more to be exact you learn through these mistakes i guess! glad to see everyone has been doing well x

I had my surgery on the 11th of jan but have only had one fill since and i am not losing anything at the moment. i have very little restriction. i have tried to make another appt with my clinic and but they don't phone me back! do they run other clinics in dublin? and how do you contact them to make an appointment

Oh hon your gp sounds like a right b*tch...some people can be so nasty!! she obviously has a problem. switch gps. You don't need that. you are doing something positive and she may be just resentful and jealous. don't let the likes of her knock you. you are doing so well xx

Sara great to have you back yes it hurts but is worth it. I went on my own too and it would be handy to have someone to carry the bag after etc. But hey you are home now i stayed on liquids for about 10 days. which consisted of yogurts, petit filous, soups, smoothies, and ice lollies. after a few days i started on baby "liga" they kinda disslove in your mouth and have turned to liquid before you swallow. After the two weeks i added scrambled eggs and soft food like spagetti hoops baked beans, but everyone is different these went down fine for me but you will have to be your own judge. take it slowly though cos when you hit one of those foods that don't pass easily you know all about it for instance i tried soft tuna in brine, which i thought would be soft and pass easily WRONG oh so very wrong lol...not wanting to be a quitter i tried tuna another day and same thing. for me even the smallest bit of soft tuna blocks the band so its a definate no no for me. but everyone is different some things i can eat others can't and vice verse...its a real learning experience and listening to your body.

hi i am still waiting to have my first fill. i find i'm hungry now and can nearly eat as normal i can eat brown bread and laughing cow cheese spread for breakfast salads for breakfast and noodles and veg for dinner. i can't eat meat that just blocks the band and causes pain even when i eat something that doesn't agree i still feel hungry i know when you have your fills esp after the second one you can only eat very little but do you still feel hungry?

Oh you poor thing! At least you are home . I took soluble solphadeine when i got home, or theres a soluble panadol in the chemist too now. but be careful if you have allergies. have you taken either of these before cos if you have and didn't react they should be ok. anyway take it easy and if you have alot of tightness suck some ice pops. the cold will take down some of the swelling glad you are back xx

i understand i was really nervous too. i think we all get nervous. I knew it was a decision i had to make for my health. I sure you are not doing this on a whim. are you travelling alone or bringing someone with you?

Hi sara i had high blood pressure too. once they put you on a pill it will bring it down don't worry. also to assess it properly you would need a 24 hour monitor. sometime people visit a dr or nurse and have high blood pressure and when the leave it goes down. its called "white coat" bloodpressure, basically you get stress when you go to a dr and it goes up my blood presure is normal 120/80 but as soon as i see my dr it goes through the roof lol. see what your dr says don't panic yet ..you'll only worry and send it up more!

Hi sara I didn't know about the pre op diet so i hadn't done one ..oops. In fact i went on the 10th of Jan so was finishing off all the christmas food! any wonder i needed the op lol I was the same...how has it come to this? but i don't eat all the time cos i'm hungry either i was a terrible emotional eater...but any emotion really! but now i can't do it thats the thing. bread is i think most of our downfalls! but i went out to lunch last week and had soup and a little crust off some brown bread...that's it you can still indulge but tiny bits no eating 6 or 8 slices of white killer bread. also cos you have to be careful when you go back eating you eat very slowly. Today I had a bit of omelette and my sister was finished hers and i was still there another 15 mins picking my tiny bites and chewing them for ages you dont have to do slimfast before. i think they recommend a low fat diet. just try your best. I only had slimfast after because you'll be on liquid diet after and at least slimfast has some good nutrients in it...even though its not the nicest tasting. you won't be hungry after your surgery but should try drink something like that keep the vits up
