I have just had my second fill. I am having a hard time with my first couple of bites. It seems to just stop, and not go anywhere and then it has to come up. I am also having trouble in the mornings with breakfast. I need suggestions on what I could eat for breakfast. Help Losingit07

I was banded on Dec. 18, 2007. I have two children and I had the same feeling you are having. I was scared to death. I just prayed that if this was meant to be that it would happen. If it was not meant to be that the lord would put some kind of an obstacle in my way. Everything went fine. I have lost 80 lbs. and I feel like a different person. Good luck.

Dr. Schmitt did complete my surgery on December 18, 2006. He was so wonderful, I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful my experience was. I have lost 65 pounds. I am scheduled for another fill next week. I was too tight in May and in June he took some out of my band. This is September and I cant wait to get to my goal weight. Dr. Schmitt has always answered all of my question. This has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I feel like a different person. I am 36 years old and feel like I did when I was in high school. The only bad thing was that when I was to tight I would throw up alot. I went back to the doctor and everything has been fine since. I have BC/BS of Alabama and it would not pay for my surgery. I was self pay. This has been the best money I have every spent.

I was banded in December 06. I was self pay. It cost me 13,900. This includes all doctor visits after surgery up until one year. That is all of my tightenings. After a year you have to pay for all of your tightenings. Losingit07

I think I am too tight also. I had my 4th fill about 3 weeks ago and almost every time I eat, I throw up. I have restriction with liquids too. I am going back next week. Is it common to have an unfill or what? Losingit07

I have had my 4th fill. I have had a hard time eating. I cant eat anything in the morning. I can only drink. I eat very little at lunch and I throw up alot. I am taking small bites and I am chewing well. I think I may be too tight. Any suggestions? I go back to the doctor on May 24 for another fill. I am afraid to get another. I had my surgery on December 18, 2006 and I have lost 49 pounds. I love the losing weight, but I hate throwingup. HELP!

Crabcake, I was on liquids for 2 weeks, but you will get to do heavy liquids at 2weeks. Heavy liquids are like tomato soup, puddings, yogurts, and stuff like that. You gradually go from liquids to solid foods. When you go from liquids to heavy liquids you feel like you are getting real food. You go from heavy liquids to mushy like mashed potatoes. When it is time you will know and the doctor will give you something to go by. Dr. Schmitt and his office are really great about answering questions. I asked a million the first month. Losinit07

Hey Crabcake! I was banded by Dr. Schmitt on December 18. I cannot say enough about Dr. Schmitt. He has been wonderful. I live about 40min. from Birmingham in St. Clair County. It too am self-pay. The benefit of self pay is that you get surgery faster. I am so glad I had this done. This has changed my life. The day of your surgery they will give you a 5 page print out of things to eat and things to avoid and when you can do what. This will be a big help for you. I had my surgery with Dr. Schmitt in Birmingham on December 18. I have lost 25 lbs. I cant say enough about Dr. Schmitt. He was wonderful and I have had a GREAT experience with him during my fills. You will be glad that you used Dr. Schmitt crabcake.

I have had it about 2 times this week. I just had my first fill this week. I am a teacher and I have to eat pretty quickly, so it is hard for me during lunch time. I chewed really well and slow today, so maybe this will not happen anymore. Losingit07

I know this sounds crazy, but I just had my first fill and have been post op for about 5 weeks. I have no idea what PB is? I am still new to all of this stuff, could anbody tell what it is? Thanks, Losingit07

I am also from Alabama. I was banded by Dr. Schmitt on December 18, 2006. I lost 10 pounds the first week. I have not lost anymore. My first fill is January 18, 2007. Is this normal or should I be losing more weight? :help:

Hey Lashanda, I was banded by Dr. Schmitt at Medical Center East in Birmingham. I paid cash for my band, and the price was $13,900. If you go to the seminar that the doctors provide they will give you a number to call to get the surgery financed. My insurance would not pay. I have blue cross blue shield of ALabama.
