My port is also in the bend of my waist and to the left of my belly button. It is hard to exercise at times. I'm very short waisted. I want to do zumba but afraid to pay money for something I wouldn't be able to do. I do stay sore under the rib area, could it be that I need to have the port moved? I wonder.

I heard that there was another form of HCG that is much cheaper in the clinics that is given once a week. This type of HCG is not like the 500 cal hcg diet. It may be the same stuff (I don't know) but you do NOT have to be on a starvation diet I believe that being banded for 2 1/2 yrs and still need to lose 25-30 lbs in order to reach goal and haven't lost any weight in a year is worth giving this milder version a try. At least for 30 days. Some of us struggle a little more than others. But if you're newly banded, you may do well w/o trying the hcg.

I was banded 8-4-09 apprx 2 1/2 yrs. I've only lost roughly 50 lbs. And yes, I know I could have lost more had I been able to just stick with program. but when you're always hungry and know you can eat slider foods to satisfy you thats what you do. So if you are one of those people that are never hungry, it's easy to talk against it. After reading these posts, I think I'll give it a try. I was just checking into it a couple of days ago, so I'm glad the question was asked. My question is, do you have to do all 3 rounds? Anyway I'll try it and pray that the hormones will help and not hurt. THANKS!

Dr. Glen Strickland - NEVER Calls Back
ebonymc replied to SClapband's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
@ mimilou, yes I am banded now. As a matter of fact, it's been 2 1/2 yrs and I'm very disappointed. but mostly with myself. only lost 50lbs but I swear to do better...any words of encouragement anyone? My new plan now is to go to the gym early before work. That means getting there at 6:00am. -
Dr. Glen Strickland - NEVER Calls Back
ebonymc replied to SClapband's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I went to their seminar and thought about it, but decided to stay here in greenville. I'm trying to get some bandsters together but I believe that people dont want others to know and thats why I have no response. I feel the same in a way, but i need some near by friends for support who have been through it too. -
That's my concern too. I was denied by B/C, but ready to appeal this week. I cant get the full TT due to an old gall bladder scar so I hope it wont look too weird. I already have a large upper belly. I would hate to look 9 months all year every year.

I wish I knew. I need one too. But I believe it's for this group for LBT. But that's good too! -
Anyone banded by Dr. Bour or Dr. Rowitz? If so, Lets get together and form a lapband club or group. I think we could help each other. We could try to meet at least once a month, share stories, dine out(healthely) discuss whether or not we had any weight loss. If so, you could help us. If not, We could help you. We'll never know if we dont try it. Of course everyone's ideas would help. Please post back if you think this is a good idea. Lets try to keep one another motivated. I really need the help and don't want to give up.

After a long plateau, what sort of plan or diet did you do to get you back on the losing track. Anyone ever try Medifast, WW, or any other program to start losing again?
-
I want to get back on track and for some reason I feel I need to jump start it by doing some type of protein plan for maybe 3-4 weeks. Have anyone started over to continue to reach your goal? If so, what did you do or eat.

Zumba And Lapband
ebonymc replied to Yolanda Swing-banks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds as though most of you enjoy zumba. I'm having a time with weight loss. 2 yrs out and only lost 50 lbs. I suppose I'm not trying hard enough. I just started to exercise really last week hoping it will get me back on the right track. Now I will be searching for a zumba class. I used to be sore a lot around the port area and thought that It would be too painful. I'm not having soreness now so this is inspiring and I'm giving it a shot. Wish me luck! -
you sound sooo uplifted that I feel more uplifted now,THANKS! I have been banded 2 yrs and have had the same effects from eggs. So yes, for most of us eggs do seem to be a little hard to handle on some days but not all. Good Luck.

My goal was to lose 75-80 lbs. After losing 40 lbs I had an inlaw and a co-worker to hate. the inlaw said "you've lost weight, you're not sick are you?. The co-worker said "How much more do you want to lose? you cant afford to lose any more from behind.

What Was The Deciding Factor To Finally Lose The Weight?
ebonymc replied to kristallynn13's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OH MY, Well my story is that I also have a family history of diabetes and heart disease. Everytime I saw my Doctor he never bit his tongue making it known that "You're gonna have a heart attack or stroke". I dreaded going to have my labs and follow ups but knew he was right. I had tried so many diets only to fail. I thought about doing this for 3 yrs but was too afraid to commit. One day I was dancing around my kitchen in front of my granddaughter trying to make her laugh and she did. She looked up at me smiling and said " you look like fat Albert". Well that did it for me. I made the appointment and kept it this time. It's been 2 yrs and Im down only 50 lbs but I've been taken off 2 of my meds. So it took that or her to make me get control of my weight. 25 lbs more to go and I'm coming off the other meds too! -
I believe mine may have flipped a little and my Doctor during a fill, He took that long needle and probed around in there and flipped it back over. I may be wrong, but it sure was painful and I was for the first time bruised and sore for a week. I could feel that it was more prominant after then.

Slow Weight Loss After Lap Band Surgery......
ebonymc replied to jsea's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I needed to hear that Oldie. Your right, I am tight and I think that my body has gotten used to it because I cant really tell that I am. Maybe if I try really hard and start to lose again, my Doctor will give me an unfill. It could be like starting over again. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Nevertheless; If I could contiue to lose, It will be ALL good!! -
Slow Weight Loss After Lap Band Surgery......
ebonymc replied to jsea's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had very very slow weight loss. So now I think it has totally stopped. I was banded 2 1/2 yrs ago. I lost 45 lbs within the first 6 mos. It took me another 5 mos after then to lose 4 more. I am diabetic and have come off 2 of my meds. This may have contributed to some of the slow weight loss. Most of the slow weight loss may have been of my own doing, but I am desperatly asking any and everyone to help support me to get back on track. I still have 30 lbs to lose and want 1-1-12 to be my new years start date. "Please dont get discouraged". I'm just one person. I am joining the gym also right after Christmas. Hang in there!
