I went threw that as well. My doc said Immodium was fine and if after a week if I still had it to call him. He said it was common. As first you loose alot of weight at once. I think my body was trying to fight the band. Just watch him. Keep plenty of liquids and lots of protein shakes. 2 or three a day with skim milk should start to make his stools harden. I also ate alot of yogert. Madden

This will stop once you get a good fill because the band won't let you. you just get very ill and possibly p b. becareful not to destroy your band. i promise it will get better. you will need to pray more because you will crave food and your band won't let you eat it. madden

I had no pre opt diet either. that is up the the surgon. he said larger women with real high bmi need pre opt diet. i will be honest it was a long week after sugery; not because i was hungry but just sore. I was just like you, even with the dietican and i was still appoved the ins comp knows we can't keep it off. good luck. madden

hey guys, i have not been on here in a while. i got my sec fill a few weeks ago and can barly eat. i went to lunch with a few coworker and got sick right there at the table and pucked in my napkin. i can't eat breakfast or lunch but can eat dinner. the band i think is right were it needs to be. but, i miss food. i was banded in dec and have lost 45 pounds. i guess i am going to just have to enjoy my summer with a nice glass of ice tea and eat at supper. The swelling will go down in a few more days. Just try to take at easy and drink lots of water. -

Hey Everyone, We are not going to lose this weight overnight. How long did it take us to put it on? We all need to give our self 6 or 7 months to lose. I think of everyday as a stepping stone. I agree on all the fad diets. We don't need them. Just our band rules. Protein and then healthy food and the weight will come off. We also need to be patient on our fills. I do weight everyday in the am. Although I know once a week whould be fine. I hate to see everyone switch diet plans. The south beach diet is a nice healthy protein diet that fits our band rules but I try to make everything myself. I send this out with lots of love and hope we all support eachother and keep each other down to earth. I think MOVING is Key to our success. Good Luck, Madden

Hey, All the support groups that I go too have taught me that sometimes it takes 3 or 4 fills to be just were you need to be to loose. It is comming your way; just a little slower. One lady at my group has lost all her excess weight but she said she did'nt lose barly any till her first fill. Keep your chin up. Just take a short walk if that's all you can do. I like to go to the mall sometimes and just walk around if its cold out. In my snazzy sneakers and burn a little. Or go to an indoor pool and just wade around. You will be surprised. Just alittle fun advise. Madden

Exercise will be so great for you. Now that we don't eat all the time; Let's get moving. Easy to say. I have another 6 weeks before I can exercise again but I enjoy just little walks. The band helps me not just worry about what I am going to have next for dinner or lunch ect. I honestly feel my hunger is where it used to be when I was 102 pounds. With the south beach diet plan and exercise I think we can all meet goal. I know this sounds crazy but I have not set a goal for myself. I just want to try be happy with myself one day at a time and where God leads me I will follow. I don't have to be skinny, skinny; I just want lots of energy to enjoy my days and my kids. The band helps me keep my food in its place. It is fuel. Not bordem or comfort. I wish you all the best of luck tomorrow on your new journey and I hope those of you waiting will soon receive good news about your upcomming banding. Breakfast: Scrambled Egg with cheese on it. Lunch: Lean Cuise with Spinach and Chicken in cheese sauce Supper: BBQ chicken, canned cranberries Drink Vita Water all day. Dragon juice is my fave. Cranberry juice to clean the bladder Fat free latte I think that now I have though about my goal; I think that why I am not posting a goal. I am used to all the other failed diet. I feel 150% confident this I can't fail. Just listen to the band. I can't wait for a fill and then more fills. Listen to me I want to be a fill junky. LoL, Madden

There are so many posts that I don't have that much energy to catch up with it all but I am excited that everyone is making such a good change for themselves. We are going to have such an awesome summer with our smaller size shorts on. I am going to leave the house for the first time in a week and go see a movie tonight with the family. I'll enjoy vita water while they have popcorn and I am okay with that because that is worth watching the scale drop. Bye, Madden:o

What a welcome back present. You weighted your self and are loosing like crazy. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the prayers guys. Wow, I feel like I had been run over. Today I finally feel like myself. I have been sleeping alot. I had the strenght to weigh to weigh today and ready. I am down from 217 to 191.5. That is just amazing. As I always say. I love this band is keeping me from eating. I only eat three meals a day. Protein and veggies only. I am happy with that too because I feel so full after the sweets don't even look good to me. If I have to I have 1 bite and it hits my sweet tooth. I checked my bmi and am down to 35. I hate that I am so short, only 5'2. I am glad to see you all doing south beach because protein is so important. You will all be surprised but you should stay full on this. Audree, I am having my first fill on 2/16. I think you going on 2/14. I can't wait. My hysto delayed this which I am glad because I got sick and vomited after surgery so I am glad I was not filled. I hope everyone is still feeling really modivated and those that are going to be banded, you will have no regrets. It may start rough but this is the weapon we need. good luck guys on your south beach plan. I will catch up as soon as I can. I just came home from the hospital on Sunday. I had a hysto last Thurs. It was rough. I have a bad urinary track. I feel real week. I read a few posts about your upcomming diet. Sounds great. Just alittle friendly advice is that we should not have any snacks between meals. Just our meals. We should not get our new small pouches used to having food all the time or we will be were we started at. I sorry if I sound rude, just alittle advice. Drink instead of snack. Bye Guys, Madden

I was told by my doctot to be done eating within that half and hour then in 45min I could drink. After I drink I really feel full. This is my last post for awhile. I am leaving for my hysto at 5am. Bye Guy, Good Luck. Madden

Hey, Guys, In my first few weeks I would only have about a 1/2 cup of any cream soup because in 45min when I drank water I felt overful. Water is the cure I believe to curb your appitite on the liquid phase and on the solid phase but I am sure that everyone is different. I stop eating when I get like a hickup burp. That lets me know I am full and then wait for the water. It does work. Although my brain is always telling me to graze and I just ignore it. Good Luck. P.S. I think you could eat your recipe but I would have no more than 1/2 cup. Beans fill heavy on the stomach and so does v/8. I still can only drink about 1/2 cup of v-8 and fill stuffed.

I read that alot of you are drinking soy milk. I don't like but wish I did because my trainor said that soy helpes the skin mold back to its orginal size, like before the weight. He said soy is so good for you and you may not need any cosmetic sugery if you are a regular soy drinker. Madden

My regular doctor suggested the lap band to me. He said" It's not what you eat but it is the quanity you eat". He know how upbeat I am and said that I was way to active to give into this weight. He then made an appointment for me just to get a consult. I was surpised because my bmi was only 39. It just all feel into place. I did'nt even have alot of problems. Then the journey began and here I am and my current bmi is 36.00. I think that God has a way of letting things fall into place and if it does'nt fall into place then it is not meant to be. I have not seen by primary doctor since surgery and can't wait to see him to thank him for caring enough to help this fall in place. My insurance is covered the whole cost. Amazing. Thank the Lord for that because I did not want to add anymore debt than what I already have. Madden

I was selfish, I did't tell anyone but my hubby about my lab band. I then told my mom and dad after. My kids don't even know. I had no one discourging me or making me nervous. I think that we need to take care of ourselfs for a change. We have been taking care of kids all these years and now need to make sure we are around to see our grand kids. Lets all support eachother in our new journey. Madden

Thanks for the advice. What is hard for me is ordering a drink to go with my meal when I am out with my girlfriends. I was bad yesterday and had a drink with a child size plate. It did'nt kill me and I had no pain. The cat is out of the bag. Madden

Hey Guys, Today is the first day I reached up in my closet and took out a pair of pants that had been too small and they fit. Not a big change. From a 22w to a 20w. I went and got a cute little hair cute yesterday and am really getting some of my postive additude back. I am excited to have a support network with all of you. I need to post some pictures. I am also excited that a few of us are going to do the south beach diet. I have the big book and am going to refresh up on it. My true bible however the lap band book comes first and we can put the two together and loose lots of weight. It is snowing like crazy so I think I am going to dust off the snow shoes and go for a whirl and maybe take the kids sliding. Two months ago I would have been tierd from all that dawm food. I feel like the cuff is off my ankle and away from the frig. I am going to have the same meal for breakfast and lunch today as yesterday and maybe half a hamburg patty for supper and a little cottage cheese and a little apple sauce for supper. Sorry if I sound too upbeat that is just how I always am. I'll touch base later. Madden

I am sick of protein shakes as well. That is making me have almost all protein meals. I am down to one shake a day. I don't like peanut butter so that is a bummer. Madden
