Hey I was banded 4/13 I feel the same, all is cool but the gas is unbearable. I know one of my bansters said when you feel gas take gas x, I felt gas from the moment I woke from surgery and it has continued. It is barely moving. The surgery itself was easy but the gas is killing me...anyoone else suffering with gas this way?

Can I have carrots on the pre-lapband diet?
options123 replied to Yasuna's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find it odd that some must do a Liquid diet befre the lap band and others do not have to do one. I wonder what its based on. I am a self pay and my bmi is slightly lower than what the guidelines require but trust me I am obese. I think it is just my doctor. He has his reasons why he doesn't require it, but I just find this odd that so many doctors require this. -
if don't stick to the liquid diet-will surgery get cancelled? /has anyone's liver been too big?
options123 replied to kcharr77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor doesn't require a liquid diet. I am sure you will be fine. -

I kknow how you are feelng. I am tomorrow as well. Thanks for the heating pad note, I think I have everything else I need. I am ready and I know we will do fine. If you are on this site you are as prepared as you will ever be. We have a great support system..I want to thank all the bansters who went before me and who have made this process a pretty easy one for me. -
Has anyone else gotten banded and it was enough to help them loose weight. I don't know why I am feeling this way. Talk to me guys. Yes, I do have fears of vomiting maybe that's why I am convincing myself of this. I just feel having the band in place will be enough. If this does work is this ok? Thanks

Check to see if you can crush your pills. I bought a high powered pill crusher and will put the powder in apple sauce or pudding or maybe water, but often times u have to eat before you take pills. I believe you should alwyas have your stomach coated before meds.

My doctor is world recognized for being one of the best. He has not required anything from me. Has this happened to anyone else?

RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK! -
Thank you for your honesty. You see I was always one of the pretty ones but struggled with my weight to stay at that acceptable weight. I lost the battle recently and I do not like this feeling. I am a self pay and not what most people would deem as requiring wls, but my doctor and I know the truth and this is an option for me so that I do not tilt more toward morbid obesity. I too am tall and carry my weight or should I say I dress to flatter my fat. But I am ready to make the change and go back to that place we both know exist only to the thinner people. Thanks

How did your new mate accept the lap band decision to loose weight.

change lap band due to expired life of the band
options123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My question is what is the life expectancy of the lap band? Let's say all goes well. Is there a requirement to replace the band at 10 years or 15 or 20? Or is this not a requirement? Just wondering about the life of a band. Thanks -
Goal weight and then some... :)

Thank you so much for remembering to come back and give back. I am similar to you and I look forward to getting a grip on my life and food issues. I am self pay and I know this will change my life for the better. Good luck and congrtas....post some photos if you feel comfortable with that... -

belly button insert, port, and one other scar is what i was told to expect.
options123 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am interested in knowing what products to use to reduce the scar appearance. I was told It would heal to the size of a small freckle. I do not keloid but I am concerned about what I should do to minimize the scar. I bought some products in anticipation but any information would be helpful. Thanks -
