    First fill on Thursday!

    I just had my first fill yesterday!! I was soooooo nervous but have such a great surgeon tht he just made it all ok!! Haha anyways he numbed the area little pinch is all.... I have 2 say the worst part is the digging for the port:-( it was very uncomfortable but so quick that when the fills done u won't even care....I heard a loud and felt a loud pop when he found the port don't ask me wth it was but ok....and honestly could feel him tightening it and the air bubbles in my throat haha it was neat being able 2 feel it tho I must say!!! Just talk 2 ur surgeon b4 or even during its really not that bad and now I have 5 ccs in my 15 cc band!! I didn't realize he was going 2 put so much in but doing great so far and am now back 2 my normal diet! I say that because I had 2 do clears right after then mushies last night and then now I'm back 2 normal well r normal diet haha!!! Good luck let me know how it goes!!!!
  2. I'm soooooooo glad someone else is experiencing this!!! I am 5 and half wks out from surgery and go 2maro for my first fill and am really looking forward 2 it because I find myself not being as easily full as when I was first banded!! Yes I still do the same portions but become hungry again faster! I am nervous and excited about the first fill! Good luck 2 u!!!
  3. I really think it depends on the person!! I have RA(rheumatoid arthritis) and take methotrexate 8 tablets all at once and well of course pain meds and etc....but my dr just said until my first fill MONDAY I'm sooooo excited anyways until then I can take everything just fine and I really have been able 2 take my meds...but after fill take pills in halves!! Really think it just depends on person like I said before just like the band works for everyone in different ways!! Good luck!!

    Zumba anyone?

    I LOVE Zumba!!!!! I have it on the Wii 2!!! Both like sumone said earlier, def make u burn a lot of calories!!! And Vickyd~I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and do it , it can be hard on ur knees but I always know that the rewards from me working my BUTT off for an hr makes the feeling inside u forget ur pain or just take some pain medicine b4 going!!

So I went to my surgeon 2day for my chk up I am 11 days out since I was banded on the 16th and he is so pleased with the healing and the way mushies were doing he said that I can start to working my way back on reg diet!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT I thought I was gonna be stuck with eating mushies for another wk but he says he would rather me "eat" than starve!!! I am so excited I am very blessed to have found him and this site u all with your posts each day always help me understand things more and more and just sharing with 1 another is awesome!!! So here I go on my journey back to seeing what foods "work" for me!!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!!
  6. NO stuck episode YET!!! Can you tell me what it feels like....I asked him 2day and he said its uncomfortable?!?!? Also do you feel that it helps to throw it up or let it work its way down??
  7. I was banded on the 16th as well!!!! Pain is only really where the port is but MAJOR gas pains!!! Trying 2 walk it off and taking the gasx strips but just having to know that it could take a few days is driving me nuts!! hahahahaha hope everyone is healing and doing well!!

    THANKS sooo much!!! And I actually do not add any thing but the 1 scoop of protein shake to 1 cup cold skim milk! It has my 26 grams of protein so for brkfast and lunch I am already at 52 g then add my dinner hit just right at my target! And sometimes I have found myself not full so I will fix another shake 2 hrs later and so even then you are going over your goal so just make sure when you buy yours you look at the ones with the highest amount and DONT BUY THE PREMADE SHAKES!!!! I thought I was going to vomit with the one I tried just make your own mix it up even with ice or you can even add splenda to the bland ones!!

    HI! I am new to this site so glad I found it though seems to be very rewarding! I am being banded on Thursday the 16th and am excited yet nervous all at the same time! I have been doing my pre-op diet since last monday...seems to get easier everyday! I found a wonderful protein powder that I actually enjoy...at first I really struggled headache for 2days no energy just didn't think I could do it...then started getting the hang of it and adding high protein things and looking at carbs and sugars and filled the void of feeling hungry! Also found that sugar free candies actually taste the same if not better to me!! Thats def a plus! If there is anything anyone would like to share with me b4 my surgery thursday I am all ears!!

    Congrats on the first step!! That was the hardest one for me I struggled with this decision for 2 yrs and finally met with my wonderful Dr the beginning of Aug of this year and he said it just depends on how much you want it whether you get things done in a timely manner! But as I am reading on here other places require a 6 month diet period which I did not have to go thru! I just had to meet with my dietician twice and pychologist which you will actually find very helpful in the process well I did!! Then I did my upper GI for clearance 3 wks ago then 1 wk later he scheduled my surgery for THURSDAY!!!! So I think it depends on ur doc but let me know I will be thinking and hoping fo rthe best for you!!

    I use the Body Fortress Whey Protein...found it at Walmart in the vitamin section! I got the Strawberry kind and it tastes honestly good! Very surprised... I found that if I buy the powder compared to the premade shakes that I can add certain things that are on our list to make them taste good, but with the strawberry nothing is needed except to use some ice in ur shaker then you can eat the ice and feel good about gettgn the chewing! Cause for me the first part of the wk the hardest thing was not chewing anything except for dinner so ice has become a big part of my meals hahahaha!!! COngrats on doing it in Jan!!
