Im still feeling like I did pre-op...always hungry, can eat anything etc. I shouldnt HAVE to starve myself, that is WHY I got the band, to aid and guide me to eat enough! I am at 4cc so far, could it be that I am just a long ways from this so called 'green zone' or whatever you wish to call it. I even had scones today with my gf (she baked them, so had to try one at least!), the most 'bready' substance to date, and no issues. Was banded on the 7th and am now pretty much eating anything, and restricting my food myself, like a damn diet! I want to feel full as advertised, is that so much to ask!

I fully understand it all, and it has all been explained to me, plus my own sister went through it all, so Im educated on the process...just saying I feel nothing yet, when my dietician is telling me to eat 1/2 a cup. If I could restrict myself to that for a period of time, I WOULDNT NEED WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY! That is my only point...I need restriction, or something, I can eat everything now...all the warnings, and education leading up...never once was I told, oh and 3 weeks into it you will be hungry and eat anything and everything you want! I didnt sign up for that, I prepared for change and it hasnt come 'as of yet'...I know its there, and its a few cc's away from being what I want, but this time in between is almost as fustrating as waiting for the surgery. My next appointment is like 3 weeks away, and Im meant too see the dietician before then and tell them what...Im starving! So please, dont assume people dont know...I know why Im here, and why I feel this way, but its fustrating, Im ready to go, Im ready to eat a small meal and feel content...something I rarely experience ever!

dont get why people count calories with the band...this is a new form of weight management, and if you are restricted to 1/2 or so per meal, then you kinda need to get calories etc into you in that small amount of meals. I find it very odd and extremely confusing... I watch fat and carbs, but calories seem so mediocre and tiny to worry about it, burn em and forget about em!

Advice for Husband who is Micro-Managing Food Intake
nate replied to HezTri-s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask for what you want. Let's be clear on this one: Subtle hints don't work. Strong hints don't work. Really obvious hints don't work. Just say it! -
I get that, but I first want to feel the tool work...bit like those fancy things you get with new cars...the first time you drive them you speed around corners and slam on the brakes to see how they help, what they do, and if they do what they are suppose to do. I just want to feel something, to feel that kick when ABS does its thing, lol. I get its no quick fix etc, I just want to feel something...Im lucky to be at 4cc really, my first fill was early due to the holidays!

Advice for Husband who is Micro-Managing Food Intake

be nice if we could refer to the issues with spouses, happens both ways, and with parents too! -
If I had the self control needed for THIS stage, I would never have had weight loss surgery....I need help and went to the extreme to get the help I needed! I already have had 1 early fill, but judging by my docs reaction last time, I might get a major top up next time. He mentioned filling the band right up giving me a glass of Water to drink and taking out Fluid until the water goes through...is he pulling my leg, or is this a done thing to get the band where it can at least help a little. If Im at 4 now, and say 8-9 is where I need to be, surely going to at least 7 now would be the way to go, then baby steps to find the point from there...why tip toe up to a goal a mile away???

It's official... I'm starving!!
nate replied to disneymom1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
tips no, sympathy YES...dealing with the same thing...the day I began my pre-op diet I said goodbye to my love of food, and big eating, and to a change for the better, assuming it would no longer be apart of my life, 3 weeks later and I can eat whatever. If I had the self control needed for THIS stage, I would never have had weight loss surgery....I need help and went to the extreme to get the help I needed! how can u say 'trust your doctor'??? What he is saying is pretty clear, until you stumble, I wont help you...which isnt the right attitude...the right attitude is to keep momentum going! -

wooo, down 22 pounds in your talk since pre-op diet...yay. Tried savoury biscuits and cottage cheese last night for first time...still no issues. Had 1ml put in (a little early, but was either that or half way through Jan!) so Im up to 4mls. -

December 2010 Bandsters out there?
nate replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This may sound a little odd, but things are going too well for me...let me explain I havent had pain, I have moved onto mushies etc a few days ahead of schedule and have not had a single problem or experience. I know I have 3 mls in thre now, so still plenty of tigthening to go, but come on...I havent felt a thing that has made me think 'the games changed and the jig is up'! Im sure if I bit into a crusty bread roll right now Id learn pretty darn fast, but I have had eggs, mash potato, mushed up meatball, even a few small pieces of cheese, and its all good so far. I guess I will just wait till the day I go a little to far and quickly realise, but apart from the holes in my stomach, and few days of pain, its hard to tell anything has changed. -

hey, got banded the 7th too...so share your pain, especially stomach growling at me...I know when Im hungry in the head, and when my body is simply saying DUUUDE, Food goes in here OK! I ended up going for a lighter, softer feed, scrambled eggs...did the trick and with 2 eggs and a splash of milk, I only ate half the first time and 3/4 today, so didnt stuff myself crazy. I have decided to kinda eat on the move...I leave it on the counter, take a small piece and chew and do other things, to make sure I have a minute or two between bites and to use gravity/movement to aid digestion...and havent had a problem yet. I think mash potato will be my first hurdle, as of yet I dont feel any differant. -

wow, not good at all...I was so worried about the shoulder pain and everything else, being my first surgery ever, but walked out of hospital 8 hours after the procedure was done! -

hi Just signed up...banded 4 days ago on the 7th...sick of liquid already, haha....but working through it. From Australia, so will have to convert any weight loss to your wacky non-metric system. 25 pounds sounds like so much more then say 10 kilos, so I guess thats why you all prefer it that way...but I find it funny when on US shows they say 'I need to lose a few pounds' lol, I go to the can and lose a few, sheesh!
