Hi LaFrogura, I was banded on 7/10 by Dr. Collier w/Journeylite also! I am so glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing this! I have become so frustrated that I am always hungry & feel like I can eat whatever I want! I am still only eating mushies, but as you can imagine there are only so many "healthy" mushies out there & without the restriction I feel I am eating too much! Everything stays down, I haven't had any trouble with that. I have started to keep a book, writing down everything I eat so that I can take it into my 1st nutritionist meeting next Monday, maybe that will help. I finally go in for my 1st fill on the 6th...all I can say is I better start seeing some restriction then or I'm gonna go CraZy!!!! Hang in there! It's really hard right now for me too, I'm sure it's that way for a lot of banders out there.

WOOO-HOOO...I am getting banded next Thursday! I am super excited but this pre-op diet is hard! Anyone else going through this?? I have to do 2 Protein shakes a day, then a protein & veggies for lunch...I have never been so hungry! Can anyone give me ideas of things that I can eat now (& still shrink the liver) and things to eat after banded???:thumbup: Thanks

I am super excited..I finally got my date & I am being banded July 10th! After much search I have found a Dr. I love, Collier in The Woodlands, TX! Anyone else use him? He works with Journeylite so I hear there is a lot of support after the surgery, which I will need to make this huge change in my life! :thumbup: I hear there is a huge list of things I will need to be comfortable after the surgery...like liquid pain meds...anyone have a list for me?? Any other advice or things that worked for you would be great! Can't wait!

Anyone out there use Dr. Felix Speigal in Houston?? I have gone to the seminar & am waiting to hear from insurance. It has been over a week now & it is still pending. Can anyone out there tell me their experience with them & insurance?? Is this normal?? I am so ready to get this all started:)

Hi Bandme24, I have no idea what the guidelines are for approval. I have a hard time getting through to anyone at United & I can't get anyone at the Dr's office to return my calls. Was this the experience you had at his office?? I left 3 messages last week!! I don't even know if they have all the records they need at this point...do you think I am just being too impatient? I know all insurance is different but I am ready for this NOW! you know?

Hi there I am new to this site and I am not had surgery yet I was looking to see if I could get some advice from anyone...:help: I live in the Houston, Texas area & I need to find a good surgeon is there anyone who has heard of Dr. Hadar Spivak or Dr. Felix Speigal?? Or can you recommend another surgeon preferrably on the North side?? Can't wait to be banded, you all sound like you are doing so well, any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Heathergurl, Thanks for the feedback, I will be making an appoinment w/ Spivak soon since all my reasearch has shown he is the best choice of the 2. How do you feel know about the surgery. Is there anything you could tell me know that you wish you knew before surgery? Did you do all liquid and/or Protein a week before?? Sorry I have a lot of questions....

What have you all eaten at work after the surgery. My doctor says I will be out of work for a week, then when I return I will be on the mushie food diet. I am reading on here a lot about protein shakes but how do you make those at work?? What other things are you taking to work?? Any advice would be apprecitated!! Thanks again:hungry:
