My goal for March is to continue exercising 3 - 5 days a week at least! I walked 45 minutes on the tread mill today! A fast aerobic walk! I have really built up my energy by walking and lifting weights. I have not weighed in lately but I know I am losing inches because all of my slacks and jeans are too big again! What a great problem. I will try to remember to weigh in in the morning and report back tomorrow night. I am going to a Rotary training convention with my spouse this weekend at the DFW Hyatt. I'm sure they will have a workout facility or a pool to swim in! So, I plan to hit the exercise plan hard this weekend! 10 more weeks of school here in Texas! I will rejoice when summer gets here so I can spend more time on home projects. As a choir director, I spend a lot of extra hours at school so I look forward to getting outside during the summer! Have a great Thursday! Kathy B.

Howdy Gang, I think my goal for March will be to exercise 3 to 5 times each week and try to get down below 200. I am at 208 and holding so I have lost 40 pounds since July. I feel like my last fill is still really tight...maybe too tight. I can hardly eat much at all. No salads which I really miss. I can get cooked veggies to go down but nothing raw. Also, beef is difficult unless it is ground beef and in really small bites. I will travel to the dr. next week during Spring Break and see him as well as the dietitian and see what to do next. The good news is I am still dropping the weight! :clap2: I just don't want to give up salads completely.:help: Also, constipation is an issue since I am not eating much. I have started drinking prune juice in the evening. That has helped some. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey Friends in December Lap band World, I just had my second fill last Tuesday, Feb. 13th, and I can definitely tell the difference! I have to eat really slowly and take really small bites! It has been great for me since I had begun to over eat again after the first fill. I think the 2nd fill is a good wake up reminder that things are going to have to change in order to continue losing weight ! I had only lost 1 pound from the first fill to the 2nd fill, but in the last week I have lost 6 more pounds! I am eating less and that is a good thing. I went to the gym today and walked 30 minutes and then worked out. So exercise is now a 3 day a week routine. I wish I could go to the gym everyday but I can't find the time yet. I will try to walk in the neighborhood since it is warm here! Everyone keep up the good work! Spring is right around the corner!:clap2: Kathy B.

I have eaten too much today, I can tell! I need to stop eating chips! I like them too much! My first fill was 1.2 cc. The dr. said that was enough since I am 3 1/2 hours away from him. Next time, Feb. 13th, he will probably add more since I will be in San Antonio for several days for work that week. I have an appt. on Tuesday morning, and then I will be in town until Sunday. So, he was conservative for the 1st fill and plans to do more the next time. I also am fighting a cold. I am taking Alka Selzer Plus cold medicine at night and then trying to just do without any medicine during the day. I am sick of the runny nose but I can't stand the sleepy feeling that medicines give me! So I sleep well at night! I am trying to drink tons of Water so it will wash the cold out of my wywtem! I am surrounded by kids at school that are sick so it is not surprising that I have it too! Back to the gym after work tomorrow! I am going to try to walk at least 2 miles 3 times this week! Til tomorrow!

I weighed the same today as last Monday. Nothing gained-nothing lost! I did go to the gym today and walked 2 miles and then worked out with the weight machines on abs, legs and arms! Maybe the exercise is keeping from gaining or losing at the point. I drank a Protein shake for Breakfast, 1/2 cup of chili and 1/4 cup of cotage cheese and peaches of lunch. dinner was 1 low carb wrap with chicken, cheese, and tomatoes, onions and peppers. Also 10 chips. Snacks were all Water or crystal lites. Off ot bed for now so I can go teach 7th -12th graders how to sing tomorrow! kathy

I had my first fill on the 9th and I still don't feel like it is as tight as it should be. I am exercising 3 days and week and today I made the 2 mile walk in 30 minutes! So I know the exercise part is building even though I still am eating too much. I go back to the dr. for a 2nd fill on Feb. 13th. Hopefully that will slow my eating down. I am really busy at work with lots of my students working on solos for a contest coming up this weekend. So, I will post again when I get a minute! Keep up the good work December Bandsters. Kathyb

I traveled to the dr. office and the dietician Thursday afternoon and Fricay and have great news to report. I have lost 40 pounds since July when I first weighed in at the dieticians office! I stayed on the Atkins Diet until I had surgery on Dec. 19th. Dr. Wright said I looked great 4 weeks out of surgery and I had my first fill. 1.2 cc in the band. He would have done more but since I travel 4 hours to get to him he decided that was enough for now. I will return for my 2nd fill Feb. 13th. I am now free to exercise at will!!! And will begin to eat a little less than I had been at each meal. And begin the healthy eating path of life! I will return to the gym on Monday and try to get out and walk tomorrow if the weather cooperates! Today it is still rainy and cold so I will have to exercise inside today. The dietician gave me a food journal to write all that I eat and drink in for the next 2 months. That should be a helpful tool. So, I am back home and on the way to the new me! Okie, thanks for the message! I am not always good and getting to the computer after work and when I travel. I will try to do better! Todays food: Protein shake with Vitamins Water 1/2 cup coffee with a little milk 2% 1/2 cup broccoli, Potato and chicken soup (mushy) with 6 wheat crackers with a bit of grated Low fat cheese melted on top. 1/3 of a grapefruit Water Tonight I am having Mahi Mahi, Zucchini and roasted tomatoes, and a salad. (we are having company for dinner so they will all eat healthy with me!) Take care and keep up the good work!

I commit too! This is exactly what I needed. I was banded 12/19/06 and have not had a fill yet due to the ice and snow delaying my Dr.s appts. I am hungry again and need to exercise more and eat less! Hopefully the weather will let up so I can travel tomorrow afternoon to San Antonio for a fill on Friday! I am going to get on my Norditrack! Happy Wednesday to all! :scared:

Anyone from the Abilene area? Who is the weather your direction today? I am supposed to go to the dr. in San Antonio tomorrow, but with the threat of ice I think I will call and postpone my appt.:cry I was all excited to get my first fill tomorrow but I guess I can wait! I would love to communicate with those in the Brownwood area. We could set up a time to meet once a month for a support group time to share ideas, recipes, etc. Anyone out there interested? -
I am also a teacher! I am the choir director at a middle school and a high school. It is interesting that some days I love my 7th and 8th graders and can't stand the high schoolers and other days it is just the opposite! The older ones can be sooo lazy one day and so motivated the next. I hate having to eat so fast during my lunch break! Does anyone else have this problem? I think I still eat too much and that is partly because I rush through my meal! I need to learn a better way to eat! Hope you have a great Friday! Kathy B.

I am now at three weeks banded! I am beginning to realize that 1/2 cup of food is not going to fill me up. I go for my first fill next Monday, jan.15th. Hopefully, that will kill my appetite! I am the classic over eater! Gerbera, I am on soft foods and I am using the Magic Bullet to chop vegetables before I put them in my soups. I have made a mexican chicken soup with chopped chicken, celery, carrots, tomatoes, 1 package of Ranch Dressing mix, i package of taco mix, and some V8 juice and chicken stock. It is really good and has helped me not be so bored with just plain chicken soup. Also, you can use ground beef in this soup and add grated yellow cheese to the top of it as you serve it! I have also made a Breakfast quiche with ground sausage, eggs and egg beaters, and grated potatoes on the bottom layer of the pan. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until the middle of the quiche is done. I baked mine in a glass pie pan. Just thought those 2 recipes might help those who are bored and need a new idea:notagree I am ready to return to the gym. I was working out 3 days a week before my surgery but my dr. advised that I wait 6 weeks until I start back. I'm not sure about working abs even at 6 weeks? I may just walk and work on aerobic machines. Take care all and keep the messages coming! Kathyb

I have had food stick too. Try to ask someone to pat you firmly on the back and at the same time sip on Water. I had trouble with grits the first few times I ate them and that is what helped me get them unstuck! It is a very scary feeling and also very uncomfortable! :cry Hope this helps! I was banded on Dec. 19th. I am excited and ready for my first fill which will be next Monday, Jan.15th. Good Luck all.

Howdy, I was banded one week ago today in San Antonio, Tx by Dr. J Keith Wright! So far I have lost 17 pounds! I have just started the Full Liquid stage of eating and have had my first Protein shake today. I have had a lot of gas too as others have mentioned, but I know it will go away in time. My goal is get down to 145 or 150. I am presently at 217 and I started at 234. I am open to any suggestions on how to begin this wonderful journey as I have one more week until I go back to work and I know my schedule will be busy:help: How do I know what to take to eat next week at work? Excited and nervous, Kathy
