  1. I was banded 11/29/10. I fortunately did not have the pre op diet many people have to do, mine was just clear liquids 24 hours pre op. About three days post op I had a minor break down in the middle of the night, I was tired, in pain, and doubting what I did. The next morning I was feeling better and haven't looked back since. I am also fortunate that I still have no hunger pains, which I guess is due to healing so that is very helpful also. I have lost about 20 lbs in a little over 2 weeks and feel better everyday. My advice to you would be to follow the post op diet, and walk, walk, walk. The more I walk, the better I feel. I try to focus on the positive and the goal of weight loss and feeling much better Good luck and hang in there!
  2. I was weighed just before I put the gown on for surgery.
  3. I was banded 2 weeks ago today and I have lost about 18 lbs. I was on clear liquids for 3 days, and am now still on the slip off of the spoon phase (cream of wheat, yougurt, pudding ect. all sugar free of course). My doctor said do not eat if you are not hungry, and I still have no hunger pains at all, so I pretty much just drink my water and crystal light. I try to make sure to eat 2 tablespoons a day of something, and can start slowly introducing solids again, but figure why do that if I'm not hungry? So I plan on waiting until my hunger comes back to do so. It's great to see everyone's progress
  4. I've noticed that all doctors are so different in so many ways, from the pre-op diet to the post-op diet, to fills. I was banded 2 weeks ago tomorrow and had my staples removed 10 days post -op. My first fill wasn't scheduled for 6 weeks post-op, but the nurse rescheduled me for my first fill for 4 weeks post-op and the second fill at the 6 week mark. I have lost 18 lbs and the nurse said I'm doing great also, so I guess doctors are just very different. Keep up the great work
  5. Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you can get your fill on the 21st also. I was banded 2 weeks ago tomorrow and still have no hunger pains. My surgeon's nurse told me that is due to the fact that I am still not healed inside, when I feel hungry again, it's a sign I am healed. I get my first fill 2 days before my 1st month anniversary and a 2nd fill 2 weeks later. So far I have lost 18 lbs, and hope to continue to due as well as you Good luck!!!

    Back pain

Walking definately helped me. The more I walked, the better I felt. Good luck!
  7. I hadn't heard of the two week pre-op diet until I found this website. I was banded 13 days ago and all I had was a Clear liquids diet the day before and had to take magnesium citrate that day also. I'm not sure what the 2 week liquid diet is for as I had no problems or complications not doing it.

    Back pain

I had mine 13 days ago and had very bad chest, shoulder and collar bone pain. I developed back pain a couple days later, which I attributed to the fact that I could only sleep on my back, which I was not used to. I do know that before I was fully sedated I know I was being strapped to the table and tilted a little, so I think you are put in a sort of traction device to give the surgeon maximum room to work inside you. I hope you feel better soon
  9. I was banded on 11/29/10 and have lost 17 lbs since the day of surgery.
  10. I am 10 days post op and for another week or so I am on a slip off the spoon diet, no lumps, bumps or chunks. So I have a couple tablespoons of malt o meal, yogurt, sugar free Jello, or broth once a day. I drink a lot of Water and one bottle of crystal light a day also. I only eat those couple tablespoons because I worry about only taking in less than 100 calories per day. I have no hunger pains at all, and my doctor said I probably won't for the first 3 weeks or so. Even without hunger pains I find that I want to eat out of habit, but I have recognized that it isn't hunger, it's habit. Good luck!
  11. I was banded 11/29/10, slept the first week a lot and moved very little. The following Monday, yesterday, I went back to college and did quite a bit of walking. I felt better today then I have in a week, I think the walking helped. I take liquid tylenol for pain maybe once a day and at bedtime I take my prescription. My port doesn't hurt at all, but the two lower left incisions hurt a bit. I know how you feel, I had a breakdown on about day 3 or 4, I was so upset and started doubting the surgery, but it passed. Hang in there, it will get better
  12. I had no other issues other than being over weight but I did stay overnight also. I am glad I did as I had a hiatal hernia repaired also and was in need of pain medication. I was just banded 11/29/10 and recommend that you get up and walk as soon as they let you. The more I walk, the better I feel. Good luck and hang in there.
