About Me
I am a twin my sister and I turned 50 in August. I've been married for 25 years and have two children. I like to sew purses and other quick crafts. I am in the process of starting a small home embroidery business. I have also begun teaching myself to quilt. I like to read when I get the chance. I love country music and old church hymns.
I am scheduled to have my surgery on December 17, 2010. I have been over weight since high school. I started on my Lap Band journey about one year ago when I began researching different options for weight loss surgeries. I feel very secure in my decision in having Lap Band surgery and know it is the right choice for me. I am so ready for the changes to come, but also realize I won't understand the scope of the changes until I have been banded. The wait for me has been a lifetime! I have the support of friends and family they understand why this is important to me and are with me every step of the way!
I look forward to a future of a slimmer more active me! Truth be told I can't wait to walk into a department store and not have to shop in the Tents and Tarps section as I like to call the Women Plus Size department! I also look forward to being able to walk for longer periods of time without my back hurting or having to sit because I get tired. My husband has been to Paris, France several times and has been wanting to take me, but it is a walking city and I knew that I'd never make more than a few blocks before I would have to sit and rest! Imagine walking several miles at a time!
I know that this journey will last a life time and I'm up for the challenges ahead. I know my health and overall attitude will help me to live to a ripe old age!
