I had surgery on 12/10 and I am suppose to be on stage 2 of the diet...which is blended foods... I can not keep any of them down!!!!!!!!! I tried applesauce , blended soup, blended beans, oatmeal..... I am so hungry.... and yet I cant eat this stuff im suppose to eat... I think I am loosing too much weight as a result... Plus I am scared because I keep throwing the foods back up.. any suggestions would greatly help....

Ok.. I just wanted to update everyone... well last time I was here I had to have an endoscopy... well since then Ive had to have another one and was readmitted to the hospital I was first admitted on 12/23 and released on 12/24 then I was readmitted on 12/26.. the stricture they opened up with the endoscopy had completely closed back up!! So after the 2nd endoscopy they waited a day before doing the barium test... which came right back up so they decided to do surgery again.... They repaired a Hitial Hernia and put a mesh over it to reinforce it..The mesh was some type of cow part.. They think that my body was rejecting the mesh which was causing all the swelling..... They went back into the same incisions they used for the lap back and removed all the mesh and loosed the stitches back up.. This happened on 12/29.. They left in a drainage tube and bag which I am so Not happy about... I was released on 12/31 They stated that in about we have to give it some time for my body to heal itself... which could be about 3 weeks....They stated that if this doesn't solve the problem then They will remove the band...which is probably what I should have asked for... I am asking for everyones prayers because I truly don't know how much more of this i can take.. my spirit is getting so weak and weary....

yea...im here now,... my hospital has free internet & flat screens!!!..lol...so i brought my laptop with me... yea..im just really tired.......and thirsty.... and i want this to all be over with......... Thanks!!!

he stated that it was massive swelling as a result of the Hital hernia repair...so now they have to try and un block it... ... i just want to be able to drink some water......and have it stay down... and the blockage is way above the band.. its in my chest.......

Ok Folks Well Im back in the Hospital!!!! Apparently I have a blockage in my esophagus and thats why Nothing Stays Down!!!!! So tomorrow morning I have to get something done called an endoscopy.. So lets pray all goes well!!!

I have no idea... i still have a lil foam...but not like before.. i have to stay on liquids til i GO BACK on Wednesday...the nurse said that its probably really swollen & tender since they repaired that Hital Hernia or what ever its called. they said the fluid probably made it extra tight...i dont know...i know they took out 1.5cc.. hell I want it allll out.. but they are not going back in me until i am completely healed... that crap was painful.. I dont know...the doc was in surgery all day... i feel like a cry baby or a winer ..with me calling everyday etc.. and i feel like I also made the wrong decision.. Maybe it is because I have gone thru so much with this...but at this point I do feel that way....

ok...I'm at the doctor office & they removed 1.5 cc. The nurse did it...... she states she is not sure how much is in there... I have to sit and wait and see if It comes up again....thanks for all the help....I have my 2 week follow up on Wednesday..so I have to see what the doc says P.s. since I am still real tender...that needle they use for the Fluid removal hurts...

ok ..I called the doctors office and I DO have fluid in my band... i am not sure how much..lol..... but i am on my way there now to get this stuff taken out...wish me luck!!!!!

Yea..you would think right..... yea... its really makes me sick cause im hungry... i can hardly do the Isopure also.. i have to do ice chips all day and then im good.... at 915 tomorrow morning i am so going to be on the phone with the doctors office... I need to get something down... also...has anyone had any problems with sleeping....it seems like i cant sleep at all..

Im thinking that maybe he did because last week i went in for a fever and the dietitian made a statement saying...he may have to remove some of the fluid.. but i didnt think anything about it cause they arnt suppose too

Its funny you say that....The same day i got banded when i would drink too fast i would get the hiccups so,....i learned to go real slow ever since.. also you know how you are trying something and you are not sure how it tastes.. you take the smallest lick you can ever take.... well thats me.. and then about the third lick...there she blows... i have to walk around with a barf bag....

OMG.. I was banded on 12/10 and so far everyday I feel like I made the wrong decision. I really did not expect all this pain and not being able to get in and out of the bed by myself and etc... The pain medicine they give me was great but it keeps knocking me out so i really dont like to take it. Also the Tylenol rapid burst seems to help and so does the heating pad... I do hope that all our pain will go away soon! Happy Weight Loss

I was banded on 12/10 and I have the exact same pain.. I asked the doctors what in the world was wrong.. they said...your stomach is on the left side ...duh.. and that is where they did most of the work...and there is a large muscle there that was affected...so they told me to use a heating pad... I hope this helps... but yea I still have this pain also and im sick of it...now it comes and goes... if they gave you a binder then use it...it has worked wonders for the pain that I have.

Yes I was banded on 12/10 also and I am so bloated. My bowels are not working right yet either.. they said to drink some diluted prune juice.. It looked like i gained about 3-5 lbs since friday and they said it is the Water retention and etc and not to worry. I also am not getting all my Protein shakes in because I feel real full and they said that it was ok...and this gas pain is kicking my tushy...i cant hardly move because of it.... I hope you get a lot of responses & good wishes on your weight loss

Hey Everybody I got banded today and honestly I did not know that I would be in this much pain. I am in soooo Much pain.. I got there at 5 am and didnt leave until 430pm.. This gas pain is the worse... any suggestion will help.... Thanks

Thanks everybody! Yea I have been taking this liquid paid medicine they prescribed...... it works somewhat but tjhis binder has been a great help!! But I still have trouble in the bed moving around and etc. The port site is what hurts the most and so does the Gas. I have been taking the gas x like regiously. I totally forgot about all the ice chips...so ice chips here I come. It has beenhard getting in all the Protein this day but tomorrow I am determined to get it in. I truly appreciate all the feedback. Its always nice to get it from people who know what u are going thru.....

Hello everyone... I am new to the community and this is the first real forum i decided to join to discuss my weight loss. I am scheduled to get my lap band this Friday around 7am. I am looking forward to the next step in life but at the same time i am completely nervous. I am also currently on my pre op liquid diet which I am totally hating. I can only have 2 Special K shakes and 3 Atkins Shakes. Some chicken broth and sugar free Jello. I wish that I can have so much more than that.. but i cant.. I haven't lost that much on the liquid diet...but hey...i don't see that it working but its what they wanted me to do....

Hi!! I get banded on Friday Morning Also!. I have been on the liquid diet but my surgeon said so solids and no soups... just the Protein shakes and very little chicken broth........ I hope everything will be ok.. they said the purpose of it was to shrink your liver....but i know many others who are able to eat foods on their pre op diet...so i think you would be ok,.....

I'm getting banded this upcoming Friday.. Dec 10th and My doc has me on 2 special shakes and 3 Atkins. I can have very little chicken broth and sugar free Jello and thats it.. I am not sure why I cant eat at least some vegetable soup. Its getting harder on me..but I don't have that much longer to go!
