My PCP is a pain in the butt about anything to do with weight loss, and I was wondering if the insurance co. would accept something from my surgeon? how did it go for you? I also have a hernia right above my belly buttom someone said you can get approved easier with that? does anyone know if that is true?

I would wait till they fall off my husband was the same way as a matter of fact he kept offering to remove them

The pain you are having in your chest is swelling which is probably causing a lot of restriction I had the same thing. I would say it probably lasted for me till week 6

yes you can... that was one of the selling points vs. RNY... I have teeth implants and need a few more... didn't want to have to worry about meds after that surgery... plus I have two teeth that flare up every now and then because of an impacted wisdom tooth that need to come out, so I need to be able to take motrin or Aleeve..

I live in NY and last week we were suppose to be wiped off the map by Irene... I felt like I eat a lot more then usual, I was so busy last week preparing my house to be able to float I wasn't able to track my food so I really don't know If I ate more, but I did feel like I was eating more...

I think I read on here that some people say that is their signal for being full.

I also track my food on mucky my fitness pal . My dr. Sent me home on mushy so at first I was getting 400-500 after a couple of weeks it increased to 700-800 now it vary depending on what I eat. I just try to stay under 800... You can find me on my fitness pal under this name if your looking for buddies

My surgeon tried to get me to do the lapband, the next day I switched surgeon's.. Now thats just me and how I react, I just don't like people that try to change my mind once i've researched and have done my homework.

I had my psy eval done in manhattan. by Robert Dobrenski he charged me 80.00 UHC paid the other half his rregular fee is 160. which is actually pretty cheap the other two on my list from my surgeon are Patty Matz $225. and Stephanie Levey 250. my doctor only required a two day liquid diet I had a 41 BMI I think that is the diet he puts all his patients on though, he also required that I be able to tolerate soft foods in order to get discharged.

Neither my dr or insurance required me to lose weight before surgery, as a matter of fact I actually gained a few before surgery ( not saying you should gain ) I would call my insurance company and find out if they require you lose and ask your dr. if he requires it.

normal I compare it to a sink with a slow drain once those bubbles finally come up the water or food go down...

My pcp thought it was something they put over the stomach ( like a sleeve ) she was with a resident and after I told her what I was doing she started to explain it to the resident, and I just looked at her like WOW... Didn't bother to explain it to her because I plan on finding another PCP because she gave me such a hard time about getting weight loss surgery, and at my medical clearance visit she told me I was going to fail... I don't feel I need to educate people that treat me that way...
