I'm only able to go 2-3 hours feeling satisfied. Will an increase in protein make me satisfied longer? Anyone with tips?

I do have another appointment soon and I plan on having another fill. Like you said I might not have reached the sweet spot. Milk? That's great because I love it! What kind do you use and does it really help?? Thanks -
Tips On Staying "satisfied" Longer..

Well, I guess I mean it didn't get stuck and it didn't hurt. The chicken was all that I had and if I cut it up it would have been about a cup. -

For example I made boneless skinless chicken cutlets on grill. I had 3 cutlets and I don't feel restriction or full. Why is this? -

A cup of food sounds good but that doesn't satisfy me and the band is almost completely filled. That's why I'm having difficulty. I can have a good meal and be hungry in 2 hours even with protein. And I try to eat only when my stomach is hungry and not my head. Its a hard transition. -
Tips On Staying "satisfied" Longer..

It most definitely is head hunger and the impulse to eat. I'm just realizing the difference between the two. I would like to start eating more protein if that Will help with the spurts of real hunger. -
I definitely have issues with food. Since I was banded in Dec. 2010, I have not lost more than 10-15 lbs. I am still able to eat as much as I did before the band, if I want to, without much discomfort. I really want to start to use this tool to its fullest extend and stop taking it for granted. For example, during the summer I like to eat fresh tomato sandwiches. I can eat 1 sandwich comfortably now and prior to being banded. Why? What am I doing wrong? Also have been counting weight watchers points and I am currently at 26. How many calories is this? I need help!!!!

Hi. I'm pretty sure I'm almost completely filled. Having a hard time listening to my body I guess. So, having tuna, for example, and then nibbling on a sandwich would decrease my food intake?

Soooo Depressed And Ready To Give Up...
nipper75 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded December 2010. Lost about 10 lbs from that time to Summer 2011. Then I got pregnant. Pregnancy was wonderful and now I have a healthy baby boy. During pregnancy, I had all fluid removed and was recently filled up in May. Since then, I have been struggling... I'm starting to wonder if I made the wrong decision. I've been following weight watchers but used the new plan and gained 10. So, I switched over to the old points program and have been remaining steady. As for the lap band, I rarely ever feel full. I eat and then witthin an hour, I feel hungry again. I thought this quest would be a little bit easier considering I took the leap and had the surgery. I don't know what to do. Should I have band removed since it's not helping? Any diet suggestions? I can still eat the same amount that I ate before surgery... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks. -

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I am completely filled but will call Dr to make sure. I do keep a journal while using WW. I'm not perfect in my food choices but pretty good 95% of the time. And yes it is like starting over. I just thought I would have been more successful by now. Thanks again for your kind words. -
PCOS pregnancy success story.
nipper75 replied to thefitmother's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi everyone. I am surely a PCOS success story. I conceived my 2 daughters suing clomid due to PCOS. I was banded in Dec. 2010, and just found out that I am 2 months pregnant and I wasn't even trying. It just happened!!! I didn't even lose much weigh since getting banded but I can tell that my body has chanded some. So, keep trying ladies! -
I was banded 12-8-10 and to this day, I have lost a total of 6 lbs. I'm ranging between 7 and 10 lbs. I'm really beginning to think I wasted my time and energy with this surgery. I watch what I eat and exercise 2-3 times a week. Something is wrong with me... So frustrated!

Hi Debora. No, I'm not currently journaling my food but I just signed up for my fitnesspal.com. I just feel so disappointed. I'm starting to wonder if I have some underlying condition. Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it! -
I was banded 12-08-10 and was doown about 10 lbs. from my surgery day weight... Well, today, for some reason, I am back to my pre-surgery weight and I am totally DISGUSTED and want to give up. This all happened while religiously watching the calories and protein and I just got done with my period... Any help out there???

I feel your pain... I was banded in Dec. and I am still hovering around the same weight. I'm in the process now of tweeking my calories intake, water, and exercise. Hopefully this works.

Thanks. I totally agree. This has beewn a steruggle for sometime now. I am insulin resistanrt and do watch the bad carbs but been good with that lately. No spikes or downfalls with blood sugar. I guess you're right about tweeking diet. I think that's what I need to do. Thanks so much for your insightful input. Have a good day.

Hi! I had the surgery on Dec. 8, 2010 and had 3 fills since then. I really haven't lost much and don't feel much of a restriction. I'm starting to wonder if I made the wrong choice about this. I'm so upset with this. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I watch what I eat and still can't figure this out. I think I'm at 8 cc's now if that means anything...

Hi and thanks for the input. I did lose about 10 lbs. since the surgery so I guess that's not "nothing". I just thought I would feel more restriction than I do abd the weight would melt off. As far as dieting, I really do watch what I eat as I have been for years now. I do know that I need to boost the exercise and I'm looking into different classes. The surgeon that I used is an hour away so I haven't made any trips to support groups since the fall. I hope to get there once this weather breaks. I know it's not the band's fault. I blame myself. The band is a tool. I just expected a quicker response to it. Any suggestions on any "filling" breakfast ideas. I've been eating a serving of oatmeal with fruit for about 3 years now and I'm hungry after about 2 hours. So, I thought that's where I can make an adjustment. Thanks and have a good day! -

Thanks markwgi. I had hiatal hernia too that was fixed during the surgery. They didn't tell me that it could take that amount of fills. Going to work on meals and exercise to get through this hump. Thanks for the encouragement and good luck to you too! -
