I had my lap band surgery on December 21, 2010.  After getting denied, six months prior, I was elated and nervous to get the surgery.  It was a fairly quick procedure.  Had some low oxygen levels that evening after arriving at 8:00, surgery somewhere around 10:00, out at 1:00...but stayed until almost 10:00 p.m. until everything looked stable.   Was on oxygen for a few days.  I am so happy with the support team at St. Mary's.  The recovery period was about one week at home and slow motion by the second week.  I started at 267 pounds.  I have opted to take a slower weight loss and have filled to 3cc.  I am now at 215 pounds and have much more to go.  My goal weight is between 150-160.
