    Lap Band Diet Questions?

bwhitty, Ya know I agree with you 100%! I hope I am not rationalizing things but if I could have stayed on a low cal or low carb diet for any length of time I would not have had to go to such extremes as surgery. I too am concentrating on portion control, eating healthy foods, having just a bite of things that are not so healthy, and exercising each day. My weight is coming off slowly, I will admit, but this is for life not another "diet"<br><br>

    One year Anniversary...down 70 lbs :)

Good for you! I am only three months out of surgery and lost very quickly the first month and then down to about 2-3 pounds a month. I have had two fills and still haven't found my sweet spot. I am glad that you mentioned it was slow for you but it kept coming off! (I want it and I want it now!, can be a terrible sabotager) Thanks for your inspiration.

What is your favorite non carbonated beverage?

I am about 3 months post surgery and my doctor has given me the ok to drink diet coke. I also am a diet coke addict. I have added it back to my diet and It doesn't bother me as long as I let it sit a few minutes. Are there health reasons not to drink it? (besides the carbonation bothering your stomach?) Everyone seems like giving it up is a good thing so I was wondering what your thoughts were about the side effects. Thanks!

    Eating small.

I was banded about 8 weeks ago. I have found I need much smaller portions, however, I get hungry about two and a half hours later. I have only had one fill so I am at 5 in a 11cc band. My doctors office says to go hungry, but frankly if I could do that I wouldn't have needed the lapband surgery! Any suggestions out there? Is it o.k. to have 4 or 5 small meals a day? Thanks!
