deltadawn817 replied to skinnyfate1004's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't focus on Natural sugars at all. I do count sugars in other foods. Like my protein shakes, boxed food items. -

How Much Tip And Spending $?
deltadawn817 replied to amytug's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I took around $200 cash I came home with some money. I didn't tip my driver much but that is because I was not happy with him. He picked us up at 8 we got in at 5 pm and we didn't get to the hotel till 1 am.. and we spent most of that time driving around the airport collecting people. Yeah everyone was so confused as we were instructed the driver would be waiting for us with a sing with our name on it. That was not the case at all. I think of all of us 4 getting surgery and 3 companions maybe ONE person tipped him. -

Frustrated And Disgusted...
deltadawn817 replied to Soli3l's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt this a lot too and it will come and go. At least it did for me for about the first 5 months. Some weeks I just didn't even want to look at food. It was so hard grocery shopping for my family at times. I just powered through it. -

Hip Pain After Vsg
deltadawn817 replied to krenzema's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only suggestions I can give as I have the same pain is start doing muscle strength exercises as your muscles help hold everything in place and take pressure off joints. -

What Are The Imporant Things Needed After Surgery?
deltadawn817 replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This would be MY list, Walmart brand Omeprazole (Prilosec) , I loved G2 (gator aid), soups that you like creamy (NO chunks) I blended some but didn't like any that had rice, noodles..etc blended., Blender bottle. That is what it is called is the best blender bottle I have found that works great. I chose foods that had protein with the stages, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, fish..etc I don't care for protein shakes at all. I can't even eat protein bars (taste like pressed sawdust to me) I used Gas X, I was cold often also so I loved my heating pad also helped if I was achy, vitamins talk to you dr I was taking them before surgery so I just continued with what I bought. -
exercise bike? I broke my ankle and my dr let me ride bike with my boot on. Even while I was on crutches.

Sleeved Messed Up My Mirena!
deltadawn817 replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had Merina for almost 3 years 2nd time having it. I was sleeved in March 2012 and had one period after surgery a few weeks after. I have had one more a week ago (nothing major, light one, maybe one day of actual flow and a day of spotting). I am sure it has a lot to do with your weight loss and hormone levels. -
I would also suggest really concentrating on protein. I have found I stall big time and have to jump state it again with some high protein days.

Help! Mexico Questions!
deltadawn817 replied to aramey75's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
1. Nothing no referral at all. Pre op diet was emailed to me and I had to do it if I didn't I would have gone all that way and them not be able to preform surgery. 2. NO oppps and I didn't ask about what if's I wish I did not I had to pay a deposit to hold my date and then get a cashiers check and email them a copy of it and bring it with me. Hotel was covered for me, surgery, transportation from airport to hotel and back and forth between hotel and center. Hotel was covered for me the night before also. 3. How long were you there post-op? I arrived on a Friday night and flew home Thursday evening. They give you the times you can arrive and leave. 4. How is follow up care managed? I had to follow up on my own with my PCP or find a barbaric surgeon that would take me on as a patient. 5. What about support? is my family and my friend who went with me. Also I keep in touch with everyone I got Sleeved with at the facility. 6. How was the language barrier in your experience? NONE at all they all speak very good English or at least everyone I dealt with . Some are better than others but really I lived in TX for a few years so I didn't really notice a huge difference. 7. I had to fly to WA state so I had two flights with a connection and I did just fine but I don't have an issue with traveling. 8. I didn't have anything to fill they sent me home with stuff but there are no major pain meds that I was taking after the 3 day mark. 9. I don't know if they would remove a charge for this but you might have to get yourself transportation too then. 10. Is there anywhere that I would want to avoid (considering I may be traveling solo) for safety reasons? We didn't have an issue at all we also went out together as a group my friend that went with me and the other gals getting surgery. -

Gatorade, try to find one that you love. Or can learn to love. Also I found it helped me to drink things at room temp. I could not handle cold. -

When Did You Feel Yourself?
deltadawn817 replied to healthiermom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't read what everyone else wrote. I have had two c sections and it is sorta the same but with VSG I was TIRED more than with my c sections. I would say you are will be fine just as long as you can nap ... heck I feel asleep every time I sat down and I am never like that. I took me a whole 6 weeks to not be exhausted.
