Surgery in tijuana mexico
deltadawn817 replied to Beth12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved at OCC Dr. Ortiz on 3/12/12 and I had a wonderful experience. I still even keep in contact with two gals that I met while there. Both are from Canada. I really liked Dr. So I had some complications with medication and had to get a shot in the butt the next day after surgery and something in my IV as I started to get hives and my lips were HUGE. -

deltadawn817 replied to GSFan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also going to be in the group of people that say depending on how much weight you have to lose. I would get a second opinion if you really want to or build your case with your Dr as they WHY YOU want to have VSG over bypass. -

deltadawn817 replied to JMS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL because lactose intolerant after surgery. I can have cheese, yogurt, and cottage cheese but MILK in anything sends me to the bathroom all day. -
I would say the Hummus is OK but the pretzel crackers are too rough. I felt if I ate rough foods I payed for it the next day or later that day I could not each as much maybe it made me swollen.

I have not had plastics experience yet as I have been researching but I have read a lot and most people say that it is not cost effective enough to travel to MX for plastics. I guess it depends on what you are wanting done. I have been looking into Breast lift and TT. HTH

They only remove them if they don't fall off on their own. Sometimes if they use glue too they don't come off at all. If they are still on at your two week apt they will most the time take them off. it is better to hold your incision closed to minimize scaring but if they look like they are getting infected under the strips they need to come off so the incision can dry out.

Drain coming out tomorrow...
deltadawn817 replied to LG1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
to me it pinched. it was like taking a band aid off thought ... IT FELT SO GOOD once it was OUT. -
great story... I am now going to talk about your bowels. I can suggest many things but try eliminating things from your diet. I know since surgery I can't have milk at all. If I do I am in the bathroom all day. EVEN a little in my coffee. I can do cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt and things like that with no issues.

How many grams of protein?
deltadawn817 replied to Gin1120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 days out I would worry more about liquids. All docors are different mine didn't care/stress about protein till weeks 3-4, and then solid food stage and wanting me to get 60-120G/daily -
Sip all day long ALSO test yourself see what you can drink more of. Hot, Warm, Cold. I couldn't drink hardly anything cold it hurt for me. I had to have everything at least room temp.

So disappointed in myself!
deltadawn817 replied to oklafarmgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there. You are on the WORST pre op diet there is EVER. Too much sugar and not enough protein in Carnation instant breakfast's. I would say if you are going to do anything I would replace one of the Carnation drinks with a real protein drink HTH -
Opinions Needed: Back from Vacation, Down 10 lbs!
deltadawn817 replied to mommyradd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
SPLENDA I would stop using that and try stevia or Honey. It has something to do with a chemical action in the body. Also you shakes could have excess sugar in them Also sometimes our body's just need a change. I know if I am in a stall and I have a few cheat days (try to eat more calories) I start to drop again. -
Have never taken a PPI, have I done anything bad to my sleeve?
deltadawn817 replied to mikeross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't NEED to take it but if you are having acid issues you need to take it, excess acid can cause Asthma, lung issues, also cause cancer of the esophagus. -
