SF Fudgecicles okay during liquid diet?
Stargurrl* replied to Stargurrl*'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I live in Nj and they have them everywhere, acme, shoprite, walmart...u name it. And they r sooo good. Thank u for the replies. I'm so glad I can have my SF fudgecicles on liquid diet : ) -
I just got mine in the mail about a week ago. Haven't been able to start yet (just had my gallbladder out) but I'm really excited. I've used the firm videos before and always seen results when I stuck with them but each video was 55 minutes and I just couldn't fit them into my day. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

*Update* So that was a negative on the stomach virus. In hospital as we speak. I'm getting my gallbladder removed tomorrow a.m. Apparently I passed a stone but it got caught in my bile duct. I had a procedure today where they went in thru my mouth and down to the duct and removed the stone that was stuck. Some signs to look for pain in back and under my ribcage, vomiting, my urine looked like iced tea ( my liver wasn't functioning properly b/c of the blockage) I hope no one else has to go thru this but hust in case you'll know what it is. : )

Yesterday around 530 out of nowhere I got really bad stomach pains and it was under my ribs for the most part. I thru up and had a bowel movement....wasn't much relief at all. I took pepto bismol which stil wasn't too much relief. By 1030 I was feeling a little bit better....enough to get out of bed finally. And here I am the next morning still crampy but nothing like last night. I've only been drinking water bc I'm afraid I could have hurt my band ( that was my first time throwing up) I've only had one fill so far and really didn't have restriction, I've never gotten stuck either. Any suggestions or advice are appreciated. I'm hoping this was just a touch of a stomach virus and nothing to do w/ my band

Thanks for the reply : ) I was just curious/confused as to whether or not this could be a band issue? I guess I'll chalk this up to the nieces and nephews germs lol Thanks again

I wish I had kept my lapband a secret.....
Stargurrl* replied to lea3277's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say if I could do it over I would only tell immediate family/bf. I didn't shout it from the rooftops or anything but I did tell a few people @ work, a few friends here and there and now everyone knows. I get self conscious I feel like people are looking @ me like "she hasnt lost much weight or looking @ me funny everytime I put something in my mouth. -
severe headache
Stargurrl* replied to Time2BHealthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a similar issue like two weeks after surgery. I thought my head was going to explode, I had a constant wooshing sound in my ears and my sight was off. My primary doc was treating me for a sinus infection....wrong. I ended up being diagnosed with PTC (pseudo tumor cerebre) and that was only b/c I went to get a new rx for my glasses and she saw that I had swelling in my optic nerves. I had to get a spinal tap to relieve the pressure. And I've been okay since. ( its been about 2 1/2 months since) PTC is most common in overweight women of childbearing age. I hope you feel better : ) -
Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread
Stargurrl* replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay so I'm a little confused...do you guys adjust your points just because you have the lap band? I've done weight watchers before and a lot of time I had a problem getting all my points in. I can't imagine being able to do it now after being banded. I would love to do a plan like WW again. If someone could let me know if the points differ after being banded I would appreciate it. Thanks -

Anyone have any recommendations for a NJ or PA Doc?
Stargurrl* replied to suez1105's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have to agree Dr. Adam Goldstein, Voorhees, NJ. I knew he was my doc after his seminar. I scheduled my consult right then and there. -

So here I am two months after surgery...lost about 15-20lbs and I can do so much better I'm just lacking motivation. I can eat pretty much anything in moderation so I'm contemplating trying Fatsmash out again...I've lost weight with this diet in the past but I was always hungry. I'm hoping bc I have the band now it'll be a little easier. I don't know if anyone is familiar w/ Fatsmash but it strict in the beginning and you add certain foods back in in each phase. Help

Wondering if anyone is familiar with this. I was suffering from severe headaches, visual distortion, a weird sound in both my ears and feeling as tho my ears were clogged. I assumed it was a sinus infection and went to my doc they put me on antibiotics. Four or five days in I was getting worse and I just happened to have an appt to get new rx for glasses...thank God I did. The eye doc said I had edema in both my eyes and referred me to a specialist, she explained that my optic nerves were swollen and it could mean I had too much cerebral spinal fluid, this was Tuesday, got an appt with specialist on Thursday morning. Well that night I just couldn't take I. Couldn't sleep felt like my head was going to explode. Called specialist as soon as they opened and they fit me in. The doc confirmed the edema and sent me directly to a neurologist, who sent me for a MRI and right then at the hospital and schedule me for a spinal tap first thing the next morning to relieve the pressure. Now I'm home and wondering....wth??? They say this pseudotumor cerebri is most common in overweight women who are in child bearing age....great. any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much Kelley and everyone for all the info. The past two days I've been feeling pretty good. I take Diamox, can't can't topamax b/c of my kidney stone history, but it seems to be helping along w/ the spinal tap. I'm going to register now in the IH website! Thanks again! Jamie -

I couldn't agree more. Yesterday I woke up again with "the headache" really depressed and said to myself, how many people didn't even get a chance to wake up today and I need to be thankful I'm here. I do pray and believe it helps me a lot. Thank you so much for the post I appreciate all the support : ) -

I did the worst thing I could do.....I googled it and surely I was reading about the most severe cases they sounded horrible. I'm finally going back to work today and still waiting on the neurologist to call me with results from the spinal Fluid they took....ill keep you guys posted. Jamie -

Eko thanks so much for the reply. I never heard of this before I was diagnosed. Did you have to have a spinal tap? I was also given a rx to take to control the fluid (diamox)
